You are on fire with both of your stellar proposals. I heard Columbus is considering firing Howson, perhaps you should apply?

Ducks add Selanne and Caps add Semin and Green. then the Ducks add a 1st and 2nd. then you might be somewhere in the ballpark of decent trade value.

As poorly as these three players have been for their respective teams, neither the Ducks nor the Caps have any incentive to do this deal.

Why the ducks trade for a 30 goal scorer and a later first

What did you smoke to get the idea that is even close to a good trade for either team?

Lol No.

Getzlaf and Ryan make the same combined as Ovy. Quite simply:

Ryan+Getzlaf>>>Ovy

Makes absolutely ZERO sense for the Ducks.

The Ducks get hosed in this deal when you consider the cap figures. Both Ryan and Getzlaf have nice cap hits considering the players they are. Not to mention, who is centering all these wingers in Anaheim once this deal goes through. You trade in the RPG line for Ovie and Perry with Cogliano in the middle, downgrade.

I think the Ducks are set in goal and have a decent amount of scoring talent up front. What they need is a first pairing defenseman...heck maybe TWO first pair defensemen, especially a Ryan Suter-type.

They need more good players, not fewer.

Perry is probably the best RW in the world for Ovechkin.

I'd do it just to see Carlyle put Maxwell between them and watch him end up with 70 points.

If the Col 1st become Grigorienko, then things get interesting.

Ya this, wouldn't Anaheim want Getzlaf passing to OV, not Perry and OV on the wing with who centering? Koivu?

This would be a terrible deal for Anaheim. Their depth is already terrible. The Ducks are a top heavy team, and this deal would only add weight to the top.

Anaheim would probably do it because the star power of Ovechekin to the L.A. market would be big.

Washington would not.

We would? Ovie is a damn good player but we're left without any good centers, Koivu is the only one and he's more of a 3rd line center. We'd end up with Holland as our first line center in 12-13 which would be a disaster.

This moves sets us back more then moving us forward.

Yes, we would. It's still a business, and attendances have been pretty bad the last few seasons. Ovechkin is someone that people who don't watch hockey recognize, and we would easily give up having a better team if it puts ***** in seats.
