I was thinking last night about how calm and less angry I am at my TV when Gomez is NOT playing with this team and it crossed my mind! What happens when we are 100% healthy?
It's just not gonna happen. And I'm not trying to be pessimistic.
But I hope that Gomez isn't put back on the 2nd line when he comes back. His ice time needs to stay at around 15 mins-ish until the end of the season. Unless he really picks up his game big time, of course, but that's an "if" I've long given up on.
haha i was gonna post that...but in all seriousness, if the team keeps on winning (& playing hard), then there is no way that they can re-insert Gomez into the top 6.
Hopefully something along the lines of what WI has up there, however i did like the few times that Cammy/DD/Cole played together.
White will be out for a long time. I know Nok is a center but we need him for important faceoff. Would like to see Eller playing CENTER with Gionta and Pac.
Very simple, you scratch Gomez. For a guy who admitted having a terrible year and was going to come back stronger he has been just as brutal in the games he has played and right now he is hurting Eller's development. Leave him in the press box
I think if Gomez is out long enough and the team does well without him there may be a problem. I don't want to see Eller centering the 4th line when his line has been playing like they should be the 1st line...
100% healthy would be a pleasant problem, but rarely happens...remember last year, our D was healthy, and we traded Ryan OB and two days later we had 2-3 guys go down...
100% healthy, would afford a couple of guys to watch from the pressbox, and get some rest, that would be nice as the season goes on...
Say what you will, it would be better to move Gionta while he still has value. He won't be good enough for a top 6 role on a playoff team by the end of his contract, and it will be a lot harder to move an underachiever at 5 million then. He'll be completely replaced by Palushaj/Gallagher before his contract is up and we can't afford to promise him a roster spot until then. Also I'd prefer to keep Moen in the top 9 with Kostitsyn and Eller, and I doubt there's any way Goat gets rid of Desharnais. If we can move Gomez and Gionta and bring in a third line center we can shift DD to wing and still have a great top 9 as well as 12 million cap space freed up.

You start this thread and put Eller, arguably one of our best players this season (though his point totals don't really show it, he has been great) on the 4th line?

I only wish this was a problem the Habs faced...in no particular order, and I hope I am not forgetting anyone, my top 4 forwards, by position, would be:
C:
Gomez
Pleks
Eller
Nokelainen
RW:
Cole
Gionta
White
Kosty
LW:
Cammy
MaxPac
Moen
DD
Extra's: Darche, Blunden
Top 6 D, in no particular order:
Markov
PK
Gorges
Gill
Spacek
I don't know who would be #6 between Diaz, Weber, Campoli and Emelin...my guess is it would be a rotation but Campoli might be the guy to start as he has NHL experience

I don't think so.
It's not the lines, it's just a list of players in there respective positions, I think they call it a "depth chart", you might want to look into that.

Given the context that you were the poster I don't see why you think it's so far fetched for him to expect the guy who posts his preferred line-ups on a regular basis to be... posting his preferred line-up once again.
* As good as Moen has played, Eller & Kostitsyn really don't need anyone on their line, their chemistry together is too unreal. So Gomez can slide in there and only touch the puck when they let him. And Moen is much better suited for the 4th line than Gomez.
