The best part of the Seinfeld thing is Puddy is wearing a Brodeur jersey. That episode came out in May of 1995, that was Marty's second year and before the the Cup run (obviously the episode references the previous years series vs. the Rangers). Marty was a top player on the team, but he wasn't a star player in the league nor legend he become. It could have easily been a player who would go on and have a messy ending with the team (say John MacLean) where we would look back on that reference with an uneasy feeling. Most likely though from now until eternity that episode will come on and seeing the Marty jersey will bring up good memories.

which one didnt you like? i never really listened to all of the alchemy index but i can tell you that there are some good songs on there

The Devils were also referenced years back in General Hospital (Daneyko, Doug Brown, and Mac)......DF introduced this to me months ago and it's pretty funny

Haha! Hey look Mac, and Dano had hair!

I'm surprised they didn't use Sean Burke for that episode. He was touted as the only Devils player that mattered at the time by the mainstream Hockey world.

An oldie but a good one. From 1999 (First year with Stewart):

Dano trying to sing the Canadian National Anthem, and a Brad Bombadir sighting

Oh yea, it definitely could be worse but this is a 3 month break in the middle of a season, not after an entire season has been resolved. Normally winter breaks don't bug me as much but when it's one of my favorite shows it's just harder

Regarding Thrice...

I skimmed through a few of the videos you posted and the earlier ones like Deadbolt just brought back memories and I still love the sound but a couple towards the end got very "artistic" and slow. I only listened to a small portion of the songs but they sounded like they turned into more of a chill type band rather than hard rock.

So there is no actual game that corresponds to the one they are describing, is there? I feel like they could have made it more realistic with very little extra effort.

No, we have not played the Rangers yet this year (the reference was last month).

Well, in that case, we also don't have Arnott anymore, but he is credited with a Devils goal.

I thought the reference was to last season.

Are any of them in any other bands currently?

Unless I heard wrong the reference was 10-9-11. Yeah there were some mistakes. Like I and others have said we don't have a Kov-val-chuk on the team either.

It was cool to see Dano, Mac, and Doug Brown on that General Hospital. I don't remember seeing that, but it said March of 89 it aired. It's cool they used Devils players. I don't know where the show takes place geographically, but they could have used Sandstrom or Beezer or a Rangers player considering no one was really taking the Devils seriously in 89 like they started to a few years later.

I was 13 then, and was lambasted continuously by other kids who were Hockey fans for wearing Devils gear. Though I have to say in 88 after the first playoff berth, and run there was a trend with Devils jerseys among kids at school. Quickly died out the next school year, and I rarely saw anymore until I was in maybe 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. Of course we had the Rangers fans in 92 to heckle me, and the few Devils fans for the playoff elimination.

The reference was to last year. They talk about Kovalchuk, Arnott and hedberg. Those 3 were only together last season. Also, I don't recall brodeur ever sitting out because of getting hit in the neck during warm ups.

I'm taking it too far, lol.

The date specifically mentioned was October 9 and 10, 2011. Now obviously the episode was written well before this season.

As for the second part, yes.
