Please clarify... do you mean... over the Rangers...

a) When the Arbiter awarded him to the Flyers?

or

b) When he decided to accept their invitation to play in the Alumni Game?

I started a thread on the main board about Lindros.

For some reason it was stopped and deleted.

So I came here to the flyers board...

Depends on how detailed a response you want.

In summation:

Lindros was drafted by the Quebec Nordiques but refused to play there. At the following NHL Draft, the Nordiques maintained his rights but traded him to the Flyers and Rangers. Both teams claimed they had a valid agreement. It was decided by a court ruling.

A Judge heard from the primary parties including representatives of the Nordiques, Rangers and Flyers. The Flyers and Rangers both claimed to have a proper deal with Quebec but the Judge ruled that the agreement between the Flyers and Nordiques was valid. Later, the trade was amended since it was originally made prior to the 1992 Draft and included arrangements selected.

A key part of the ruling was that Quebec's GM, Marcel Aubut, made the deal with the Flyers then claimed part of the agreement was met with skepticism by higher-ranking Nordiques' officials. In his ruling, the Judge ruled that the handshake agreement between the Nordiques and Flyers was sufficient.
