first goal was luck? O_O
do you have any idea how hard it is to shelf it the way he did at that angle from that in close?
Thats the one shot briere practices over and over and over again in practice. Putting shots up into the top from the lip of the crease. Not everbody can do it as well as danny. Its skill.

It pays off, he really earns his money on those close in shots.

Care to guess why he has that nickname?
Cause he's the spitting image of

Just out of curiosity, IF (yes I know this is a big IF) Washington offered the following trade, do you take it?
To Philly:
Alex Semin
Colorado's 1st round pick in 2012 draft
To Washington:
Danny Briere
I would be on that in a heartbeat, but I'm curious what others think.

Briere has a NMC. Wouldn't happen.

As much as I love Briere and despise Semin, this deal is a no brainer. Swapping Briere for Semin this year is a downgrade and would hurt us in the playoffs, but if you have a chance at acquiring a top 5 pick and you can cut that cap space, you do it.

Wow.
Care to elaborate on your reasoning?
Unless you really think we're in the best position to win it all this year, I dunno how you turn that down. Chance to get a 34 year old making $6.5M per season off your roster AND chance to possibly add a Yakupov or Murray or Grigorenko or Galchenyuk or Ebert?
And that $6.5M would play pretty nicely in free agency (can you say Ryan Suter or Zach Parise?).

The questions is...would Danny agree to be traded?
Otherwise, yeah, I think I'd have to do it

Washington wouldn't offer that and if Philly offered that to Washington, I'm willing to say WSH would pass.
As well as I don't think Briere would up and move him and his kids.
