im sorry but this has to be one of the most frustrating teams to root for sometimes.. too inconsistent to ever be a real threat although the pieces are there IMO.
Is it just me or is Pekka giving up softies? I know the 1st one he just lost the rebound. Why can't even get in their zone? Rrrrrrr
1st and 3rd were both pretty soft. Doesn't help that we can't complete a pass, can't break into the zone, and every single bounce and 50/50 puck winds up on an Oiler stick.
Wow looks like they did not learn from Smitty's rant after all. I saw blatant interference by Hall at the line on Spaling, but come on! Preds deserve what they have on the scoreboard now.
We all sound like we did at the beginning of the year. Getting points in 10 out of the last 11 games is good but we look a few steps behind so far. Pretty awful if you ask me. Gotta shut them down and take it one goal at a time.
PS I wouldn't guess Lindback would come out for the 2nd right?
Our puck handling looks so atrocious compare to theirs. Every pass is missed. Every time there's a chance for a shot we can't seem to manage the mechanics of pushing the puck towards the net.
Heck, we've had the puck all alone and couldn't even manage to skate into the zone without losing the handle.
I love this team and will never quit cheering, but man it's frustrating to watch us try to puck handle against a team that does it well.
Keep in mind this is one period of one out of 82 games. Anything can happen in the last two periods. Not necessarily winning the game, but making adjustments and fighting our way back. We have no idea what went on in the locker room and how the discussions went. Keep in mind we have another game that starts in 23 hours. We need to make sure we get back on the right track and finish strong.
