A newly leaked memo reveals a high-powered Washington lobbying firm has offered to help key members of the banking community undermine the Occupy Wall Street movement. According to MSNBC, the lobbying firm Clark Lytle Geduldig & Cranford sent the memo to the American Bankers Association and offered to conduct "opposition research" on Occupy Wall Street in order to construct "negative narratives" for a fee of $850,000. The memo advises the ABA to take the movement seriously, writing: "It may be easy to dismiss OWS as a ragtag group of protesters but they have demonstrated that they should be treated more like an organized competitor who is very nimble and capable of working the media, coordinating third party support and engaging office holders to do their bidding. To counter that, we have to do the same."
The paper ballot portion of that "amendment" (good luck getting any of those ratified) is pretty funny, how quickly people forget. The problem isn't the means of voting, it's the people involved in elections.
Well if they do all that, #2 won't apply to 70% of the corporations because they will no longer be profitable. Then with less competition we'll have more monopolistic pricing.
I see adding a lot of burden to corporations and at the same time trying to force them to hire more *edit American people.
The bottom line doesn't stretch in both directions at the same time. I'd like to see a financial model of 75 random companies under this agenda.
25 small 100 or less employee corporations
25 mid-sized 500-1000 employee corporations
25 massive 5000+ employee corporations
Take their financials for the past 3 years and run a simulation under this proposal and show the results for both employees, and corporation as well as the ensuing impact on wall street valuation of the public companies effected - and the downstream retirement impact to the shareholders. Now add to that show me the net result to the average person of lower, middle and upper class with respect to tax burden and property values.
Show us that modeling and if it's overwhelmingly positive, you've got a platform. Until then it looks like a list of demands in a standoff from someone knocking over a banana stand.
Well, I got my corporate monkey job. Thus ends the days of Guyincognito making his own schedule and doing what he wants.
Worst part is that I don't start until 2 mondays from now, but I bought a fridge yesterday and it's coming next monday, so I can't even sneak in an AC trip late this weekend before I have to go take my piss test and touch base with the office next week.
You need to *WANT* to go to the gym. Attitude change...

As a fellow corporate monkey let me say..welcome aboard!
What are you going to do? I never caught what job you were interested in.

Just a basic office position for an overseas logistics company. Nothing special.
I'm walking out of the family restaurant field because the economy sucks and there's absolutely no certainty. I like the looseness of it but there's so many ownership changes, closings and networking BS to keep yourself busy and paid you kinda wonder when the well is going to run dry.
Hated it but at the same time liked being free to fall off the face of the earth for 3 weeks if I saw fit. There was always someone to cover for you if you'd cover them back.
Obviously that will never happen again unless I really climb the ladder.
Also getting sick of paying for medical. Jesus that is expensive. Have great medical but at the same time I better for what I pay.
When I busted my ankle I was given an awesome pair of $250 crutches. Really? Maybe I wouldn't have to pay a little less than $10K a year for medical if those crutches didn't "cost" so much. Pentagon pricing.
Holy ****! Why would someone do something like this?!
The owner is a ****ing ***** **** *********. Poor kitty has to smell the bacon but never eat it...

Ah. Want to hear a story? I was in a car accident ten years ago, spent 10 days in intensive care, had major surgery by a superb Swiss doctor, my own nurse in IC etc.
My bill was $30.

Well, the copay was $100 so that was all I had to pay, but in comparison....
I just can't believe they billed a crappy pair of crutches for that much.
