I don't see a reason why the Leafs would move Aulie atm unless they get a severe overpayment. His value is probably at an all time low, not having made the big club, and not really doing all that well with the Marlies, either. We (including the management) all assume he's capable of a lot more than what he's shown in his recent games.

Keep Aulie for now, we'll need him if we shed more D with injury or trades.

Vowed it would never happen again with him as GM, unlike other posters I am perfectly happy we carry 2 fighters that can also play 4th line roles. But if the Sabres came asking, I would listen to offers. Foligno and Kassian are the 2 players I would mull over.
aulie + orr? considering we have him collecting dust might as well let buffalo get some use out of him.

leafs would be left with rosehill and brown who im confident are good enough

The opportunity for disaster is too great when dealing with divisional rivals especially when you're dealing players you may not have roster space at the current time.

Ironically I remember witnessing a clear sign of the downfall of the Leafs in the fall of 2005 when Buffalo rookie Paul Gaustad knocked Mats Sundin on his rear end without consequences.

i think you may be reading a little too much into a body check.

the Leafs decline had far more to do with age and the lockout.

no one is going to sit around in 20 years and be like, WELL THE LEAFS HAD A GOOD THING GOING, THEN THAT THERE GAUSTAD FELLOW BODY CHECKED SUNDIN AND IT WAS ALL OVER.

Thanks for your input. The team's type of drafting under Quinn choosing undersized softees plus Ferguson's acquisitions of players for whom physical play and bravery were dirty words were indeed what turned the Leafs into league pansies.

kassian was recalled last night, i asked someone from that board if it were for showcasing purposes and apparently they are not. if it were aulie and rosie/orr i would also insist on a 2nd/3rd rd pick coming our way so we can flip it later in the year for a body. like what they tried to do last yr for liles.

Aulie for Omark makes the most sense.

Would love to see Kassian work his way up in our system
Sabres management would not want to move him though.

Aulie + Crabb(AHL purposes, pt producer) for Kassian

(once the leafs are healthy, the marlies would be fun to watch)

Crabb-Colborne-Kassian
Kadri-Zigomanis-Frattin

i would not mind kassian...

but aulie has a future with us. if we don't re-sign liles, aulie is definitely with the team next season

gunnar - phaneuf
gardiner - schenn
aulie - franson
blacker

that is a sick defense in the future

I agree, it's not happening, we have perhaps a better player in our system we can develop on our own. Tyler Biggs, he doesn't come with the attitude of Kassian and he could be a player in 2 to 3 years.

The value of Aulie to the Sabres pales in comparison to the value of Aulie to the Leafs when he's paired with Gardiner in the near future.

We can't trade this guy. He is a top 4 D-man who is an enforcer. Remeber the sh!@t kicking he laid on that guy last year?

Lucic won't be running Reimer if Aulie is on the ice to dummy him. Keep him.

What about Mark Pysyk...

I know Burke thought highly of him at the Draft back in 2010. Maybe Regier and Burke can work a Deal around Pysyk and Aulie.

However, I kind of get the thought that the Leafs won't move Keith as they see him as a big part of their future.

Would Leaf Fans have any interest in a Mark Pysyk and BUF 2nd/3rd Round Pick in 2012 for Keith Aulie and Dave Broll...

No thanks. Percy, Blacker, Gardiner, and Franson ontop of Gunnar and Liles we have enough offensive-oriented D-men. Not to mention Dion Phaneuf of course, why remove the guy who will hopefully replace Komisarek and is an intimidating figure for a redundant 6'0 D-man?

If we move Aulie to Buffalo, it has to be for Kassian. We would likely need to throw is something...a pick, a goalie (Gus) or a forward back with some potential (not Kadri)
