We got your point, however you went after Jeter. Your mistake. As far as what happens in the future, I tend to agree with you. They are making decisions on character mostly based on what is assumed, not with true evidence. Unless they test positive, there shouldn't be a consideration.

Honestly, I think the PE topic has been greatly overblown. Players have been "cheating" in baseball since the dawn of time, or at least the game. I played baseball for quite a while. Purity of the game never came to mind.

If these players wanted to do that type of damage to their body to get into the HoF, more power to them... :p

Until other schools can convince the best talent to come to their schools, this dominance is going to continue. The SEC also plays by a different set of rules when in comes to recruiting. They oversign like crazy and then send "lesser" players to the scrap heap. Take Texas A&M as an example. They have 35 commitments for the 2013 class. I find it hard to believe that they have that many scholarships available. If the NCAA would grow some balls and make all conferences play by the same rules, things might level out.
A&M is up to 37 commits now.

Thoughts on Denver-Baltimore game

-very exciting
-referees sucked
-Denver defensive backs sucked
-Ravens special teams sucked
-Peyton Manning sucked on that last pass
-looked like Tress was calling plays on 2&2, 3&2,-if my count is correct I think they failed 5 straight times to convert first downs down the stretch
-Flacco is pretty good
-Boldin very good receiver

Agree, with one additional thought: though Manning certainly made a poor decision and threw a weak pass, the real goat was Moore, the DB who looked like a little league outfielder on that pop up Flacco threw with 31 seconds remaining. Even though I despise Baltimore, I had to laugh at the total ineptitude of that play! He was cruising into position, with all the time in the world; then he stopped, looked up, realized he had misjudged the pop up by at least 5 yard, and started back peddling and waving his arms like an extra in Bad News Bears! It would be totally hilarious, if only his entire remaining life was not going to be made miserable by the outcome! Of course, there's always Payton to share the blame, too!

I agree. Tried to hide him in the overall Denver db comment. But yes that was a terrible play.

Mentioned to wife- football game isn't too exciting 20-0 Atlanta.

Later-Hey remember that game? team up 20-0 now down 28-27 with 31 seconds left

Still later - Team that blew lead? Just won on a field goal.

Didn't see any of the game except the last 31 seconds.

3 great playoff games so far.

Belichick vs. the Ratbirds. Great! Can the earth open and swallow them both? I can pull for either of the NFC teams, I suppose, with an edge to SF because of Whitner and Ginn. By the by, how about Posey's great TD catch for the Texans? Too bad they couldn't do much else, though. I could find something good in almost any other AFC team, even the hated Steelers, over the two that are there. I just hope this isn't the start of another year where all championships in all sports are won by teams I intensely dislike!

I asked this same question! See? Despite your ill-advised "hated Steelers" comment below, we can still find common ground.

Yet somehow I could root for either AFC team against the Niners. Care to guess my eye-rolling (not to me, but...) reason why?

I didn't begin to dislike them until the Browns stopped beating them (ever!) and many of their fans became unbearable, present company (so to speak) excepted.

I'll play. You hate Harbaugh cause he is a Michigan guy?

I dislike Harbaugh because he's a jerk, a punk and a *********. (Yes, that applies to either one.)

But no.

I can understand that. A brother vs. brother matchup might appeal to the media, but too much of those two would truly be too much!

@TSNDaveHodge: I'm so used to not believing Lance Armstrong that I now think he rode clean.

Good thing our sports media would NEVER just publish an outlandish story without double checking for references...

Manti and ND's statement doesn't deny the story, though.
