Kuz knows his worth. It's either max ELC now or KHL for a few more years. But I highly doubt he will stay in the KHL his whole career.

At what point can a player like Kuz come over without having to play on an ELC? Can he essentially wait it out?

Under the current CBA, the big money contracts have generally gone to young RFAs coming off of their ELCs. Assuming that is the case with the new CBA, and assuming that Kuz's goal is to maximize income (not always a safe assumption), his options appear to be to either A) come over now, play like a star on his ELC, and get paid on his first RFA contract or B) stay in the KHL and hope his higher earnings now offset his potentially higher NHL earnings later.

unless the new CBA allows it, he cannot "wait it out".

I predict Kuznetsov will play for the 2012-2013 Capitals. And he'll be awesome. Rookie of the Year.

ROY? Man that's tough. Maybe if we keep semin and he plays 2C at high level or we go 3 scoring lines and kuz/mp/brouwer get the worlds weakest Dmen.

2nd game of the KHL Eastern Conference Final on the way. Traktor is leading 2:1 atm, Kuznetsov with 2 goals so far =) 2 periods almost done. Traktor leading the series 1-0.

Traktor down 2-0 in the 3rd period. If they lose today then they will be down 3-1 to Avangard in the Conference Finals.

Traktor loses 3-1 Kuznetsov with an assist on their lone goal in the 3rd then Avangard put it away with an ENG.

Was hoping his team would win it all... more likely he'd want to try and come back and win whatever stupid trophy they have over there

does anybody know, has an upcoming to the NHL rookie player been counted as a rookie after 25, or not? I mean, has he to sign a little money rookie contract if he is 25 or older?

No. Matt Gilroy is a recent example. At 25+ entering players aren't bound by the entry-level system.

Except if he comes here he's going to play Jeff Skinner 6 times a season, so it's not like that's any better. (shamelessly stolen from Japers')

Why do Russian hockey highlights always have techno music backgrounds?

It would be a fine if anything.

His skate nicked his back.

Anyways Kuz should've gotten up.
