Now, to go on topic, I'm surprised, but not shocked. Blake has always been streaky, but of all the under-performing players this year he's the one that has had the most chances. Guess he ran out of chances.

We'll see what happens next.

Totally forgot about that connection. So hard to find anything to give Milbury positive credit for.

Devils put down a guy, maybe to make room for a waiver claim? I also think that L.A, Sens, Ducks and Sharks make a claim.

Of course, I would venture a guess that our payroll was middle of the pack during those handful of MM playoff years. Can't help but wonder if that had any effect on the situation...

One of the few areas that I'll give Milbury credit for was when he was forced to jettison veterans for prospects/picks. Sadly, he was just as good at packaging promising young players/prospects for sub-par veterans. It's amazing how poor of a shape we were left in at his departure.

I'm sure that I'm not enlightening anyone with any of this, especially yourself.

If the Devils claimed him and he was in the lineup tomorrow that would be awesome ! Have Haley kick his ass : )

To be fair, Wang was spending money much more willingly back then. Plus, Laviolette was coach.

There few & far between, but he did make some great moves while here. Getting Aucoin for Biron & a 2nd was brilliant. Getting Kenny Jonsson & Roman Hamrlik also proved to be fantastic.

But yeah the organization is still feeling his stupidity years later.

He's not the only player struggling. Most of the team is struggling. Nobody is hurting this team more than dp yet he continues to play.

He was lucky on some trades for sure

But luck only gets you so far, I am sure if any of us threw **** up against a wall some of it would sitck too

This reminds me of a good quote
"True luck consists not in holding the best of the cards at the table; luckiest is he who knows just when to rise and go home".
John Hay

You got to know when to hold em.......

On Comeau, one decent season of goals and points does not at all negate the fact that every season that he has been here 90% of the time that he is on the ice he is INVINCIBLE! I agree with Botta, he won't (shouldn't) get claimed. Hes not a faceoff specialist, he does not battle across the boards, etc.
At least with Reasoner he does take faceoffs, Rolston has a booming shot. What does Comeau do? Nothing!(that I ever saw)

Go back to playing NHL 12.
Thats why this team is so messed up, most of you are still playing
NHL 12.

Right now Comeau is a product of how this franchise has totally screwed up decent players, Bailey being another, Nino not far behind. Tavares 5 pts this month is not tearing it up either. Long story short, no one in the organization knows crap and that is why they've been given the Mickey mouse award. Toronto has move way ahead of the Isles in development nad Edm is not far behind so I think based on who I see running the show on Long Island, I stand a better chance at winning playing NHL 12
Happy Thanksgiving

Or he's just not very good. You know the old saying, "someone has to score on bad teams." 0 points in 16 games, not even a secondary assist and a -11. Like I said in another post let's just let the inept players keep playing. I mean the team doesn't have enough of them with Rolston, Reasoner, Mottau, Okposo, etc.

It's ok though, he was trying really, really, really hard. Sorry, the time for freeloaders on this team is over.

Bailey was rushed cause he's Snow's jewel. Nino could be sent back to Portland but he's already shown more than 3/4s of the lineup. Tavares is fine, would be ever better if Moulson was off his line.

Of course you stand a better chance at winning in NHL 12. The real world isn't a video game.

I just think that, if he is claimed, long after this season is over and these last 16 games long forgotten, his eventual fruitful career is going to make this waiver look absolutely foolish and give Isles fans one more thing to "whoa is me" about. Just my opinion. As an Isles fan, hope I'm wrong.

And I don't think the Isles have the depth to let 24 goal scorers go.

About time they got rid of him, the guy is a cancer in my opinion. He has the talent to be a productive player, but he seems extremely lazy and I don't think he wanted to be here.

What 24 goals? Oh you mean the 24 goals he scored LAST year? I could care less what he did last year. I can't stand this guy, and I didn't like the contract they re-signed him to. Comeau is a piker. He clocks in, sits at his desk with his feet up, and just collects a paycheck.

Good riddance. Let's sit Rolston and Reasoner, and see what Nino, Ullstrom, and Haley can do for this team.

To all those crying about Comeau being on waivers just face the fact that he was not that good.
He had a decent season or 2 but like I said in other post and I will say it again Comeau was one of the most overrated Islanders on this site.
In fact im willing to say he never snifs 30 goals in the NHL or gets to 24 he scored last year. In fact I think that was a career year for him. He is nothing more then a 3rd liner at this point.

I do agree with the posters that said others should have been waived first as they are 10x worse then Comeau.
Pandolfo is awful he brings nothing to the table at all that someone else on this team couldent do if he was waived . Reasoner is total garbage and I would have waived him too.
I am actulally laughing at all the reasoner hate, most on this site thought that was a great signing because he was a better "hockey player" then Konopka. This is the exact reason why you cant use that line of thinking.
I think the one's who wanted to keep Konopka instead of Reasoner can say "I told you so". Konopka role he filled and was a better fit for this teams needs. I bet noone would be calling for Konopka to be waived now.
Roloston is horrid out there and should have been waived first but because of the cap he stays.

Just remember one thing. Rolston, Reasoner and Pandalfo have more points than Blake does at this point. So they are already one leg up.

Why does everybody keep calling Comeau a 20 goal scorer? He did it once, and who knows if he is going to do it ever again.

Hopefully Pandoldfo is next, he is brutal in the defensive zone and his lack of effort on the forecheck and backcheck is disgusting...

maybe a change of scenary would make comeau revert back to the 20goal scoring ability that he had.

This guy had some significant value around the league this past Summer. What a disappointment!
