Do you remember your first game?

Anyone remember the first game they ever saw live?

For me, it was in March of 1993 against the Sens at the Forum. The Habs ended up winning 4-3 in OT. Out of curiosity, I searched to see if I could find old box scores from that season... and sure enough...

If you look around on the website, you could find every game for the past... no idea how many years, but a lot! haha

Nice! Thanks for the link.

My first game was Bruins Habs playoffs 1991 at the Forum. Habs won 6-2. I remember being amazed with Russ Courtnall's speed.

Yes, it was a couple years ago, my older bro gave jee and I tix for a game for christmas. I was so excited! Then I looked at the tix and saw it was a habs-devils game.

Mixed feelings.

We lost it 3-0.

Still, it was a great experience, I remember walking in and being so intimidated. Then, after a few games, I started to feel at home

considering i 'used to' live in hull, sens game are easier for me to go to. my first - and last one, was sens/isle back in... 2009? 2008 maybe... was a good game, sens won 3-1 -shocking i know

i've been out of the country for 12 years and only go back once every 2-3 years so i don't get many opportunity to go

First time I went to the Bell center Habs were losing 5-0 vs Rangers, and then they managed to pull the biggest comeback in franchise history.

Best night ever

First game was in Winnipeg in March of '95. Jets-Canucks 3-3 tie in a game with Selanne and Bure in their younger days.

First Habs game was in Minny in December of '05. Wild win 5-4 in OT. Nicklas Sundstrom missed a penalty shot.

First (and only) game in Montreal was in March '08. Habs beat Bruins 3-2 in a shootout to go 8-0 vs them in the regular season. Remember Koivu scoring five hole on Thomas and Thomas stepping on the puck as he tried to skate away all fast and cool-like. Game also featured a Max Lapierre and PJ Axelsson slug fest as well as a Steve Begin one punch on Shane Hnidy. What a great drunken night that was. We went to some bar that we didn't fit into after and then out for shwarma's?? in some dingy basement restaurant after. I didn't have one because I wasn't hungry but they were apparently quite good.

I'm not sure if it's the first one I saw but the one I remember as my first was also against the Sens. Not sure if it was in March but I'm pretty sure it was during their first season (92-93). I remember my father driving to Montreal and he didn't tell me anything about going to the game and then took out the tickets and told me we were going to the game that night. I was so excited I still remember it very well.

November 30, 1991. Flames versus the Sharks at the Saddledome; San Jose won 2-1.

I couldn't remember when it was but I remembered the result and thanks to hockey-reference I could figure it out!

Don't remember what date was my first game, I think it was 2002.. But can't remember. My friend and I were in downtown already and we were passing by the Bell Center when one guy was leaving from it and I guess his business partner couldn't come but he came up to us and asked us if we wanted to go to the game. (It was the 2nd period) and We said YEAH!.. We checked the seats and they were desjardins seats. Not sure if they were called that back then, I have the ticket somewhere.. too lazy to check. So it was really luck.. but yeah now I got atleast twice to three times a year.

I could have gone in the early 90s, but being young I decided to go to see Mrs Doubtfire with my aunt and my mom instead of the game with my dad and my uncle.. Idiot I was.

Fredericton Canadiens VS St-John's Leafs

I didn't realize those weren't the "real" teams because I was so young

My first ever Habs game was in Winnipeg, December 15th 1990. I was 12 at the time. I still have the game taped and after a commercial we have the camera spoting on us (me, and my 2 uncles) with big Habs signs. Unfortunatly i didn;t get the chance to see my Hero (Patrick Roy) because the game before, Wendell Clark injured by sitting on him. I was so fortunate to see the Great Jean-Claude Bergeron while Andre Red Light Racicot was his back-up. I was outside the arena for the Habs practice, I got to see Racicot arriving on a bus ... he was called up the night before.

If your a die hard habs fan, you will remember that the night before, Shayne Corson, Mike Keane and Brian Skrudland were involved in a bar fight and spend the night in a Winnipeg Jail. It was a big deal in the morning because all three of them were missing from the practice.

The Final Score was 4-2 for the Jets. Mathieu Schneider and Denis Savard scored for the Habs on the PP. It was the first ever game for Sylvain Turgeon as a Hab... He was injured and only played is first game in December....

J-C Bergeron was up against Stephan Beauregard.

I have pics of all the Habs players after practice.. I remember waiting about 1h with a temperature of -25 degrees... after the game i was able to get pictures of all the Jets players and have their autographs. The game was on Saturday, and i went to watch the Jets vs the Flyers on Sunday night.

monday morning i was flying on the same airplane as the Flyers. Back then, the teams were flying commercial air flights.

Even though i was only 12, i remember that trip like it was yesterday!

First Habs game in Mtl was on Nov 9th 2002... a 3-1 Win over the Kings!

December 18, 1995.
Canadiens vs. Whalers at the Forum

Recchi Leads Canadiens

Mark Recchi scored two goals as the Canadiens beat the struggling Hartford Whalers, 3-2, last night in Montreal. Marc Bureau also scored for Montreal, which has won three of its last four games.

Brendan Shanahan scored both goals for the Whalers, who have won only two of their last 11.

There was sharp goaltending from Montreal's Jocelyn Thibault and Hartford's Sean Burke as the Whalers outshot the Canadiens, 36-35. (AP)

Awesome website, thanks.

Wednesday, December 23rd, 1993 @ The Montreal Forum against the New York Islanders.

The Habs got smoked 6-2. Pierre Turgeon scored for New York, and Glenn Healy was in net. Roy was in net for Montreal.

Sadly, my only visit to the Forum, moved to Toronto that summer - the last time we won the cup.

Jan 25 1997, went to Montreal on the train overnight from Nova Scotia... got there the morning of the afternoon game... only to be greeted by an 8-1 thrashing by the St Louis blues, the Sunday afternoon game the next day they lost 5-2 to the Pens with Lemieux scoring 4 goals. I was 7 but I'll never forget those 4 goals.

Habs vs Islanders, Feburary 1997 at the Nassau Colosseum. Habs won 4-1

I don't remember much except how much better the Habs were than the Islanders. Apparently the doctor had a good game, as well as a young Koivu.

I remember my first game was also a 1st round Bruins-Habs matchup at the Forum, but I can't remember exactly which year. I thought it might be '91 but looked it up and we played them in '88, '89 and '90 as well!

I remember it were standing tickets and the atmosphere was purely amazing! I was under 10 and remember being extremely impressed with the near vertiginous steepness of the nosebleeds.
