I know it's best to do BPA, but is another center worth it? I mean, aren't we at a point where we can't ignore getting a damn good d-man?

He can play right wing.

If your drafting philosophy is to take the BPA, you don't waver from it. Ever. If Galchenyuk is on the board when the Flyers pick and is the top guy on their list, he should be the selection.

I'm wary of picking not only a player who tore his ACL during a critical time in his development but also of picking a player who was on a line with one of the most dominant offensive prospects in the CHL.

There's a reason he's falling. He's a risk. A risk we don't need to take.

You have to define "best" in BPA.

It's like when we rank our prospects; some go by ceiling, others by likelihood to make it, some mix the two together.

When you say "x is the BPA" you have to explain what you mean ...does X have the highest ceiling?
Or is X the safest pick to make it overall.

(For example, kirill kabanov went in the 3rd round, but was clearly top 5 talent)

He was drafted first overall to the OHL. He's a dominating player. He was not a passenger of Yakupov, he was his playmaker. If he's cleared to play and he falls to us, not taking him would be suspect.

IMO we already have a brilliant young core at forward, so we draft defense for the first 2-3 picks. Unless we make a big trade for Weber or Suter that's costs us two of our young forwards, then we go with BPA.

To everyone clamoring for the first round pick to be spent on a defenseman, Matt Finn (OHL - Guelph) is the name I've seen/heard associated with the Flyers more than a few times. As long as we take Alexandros Soumakis at some point, I'll be satisfied.

When you draft for position you wind up with Sam Bowie, when you draft for BPA you end up with Aaron Rodgers.

You always draft BPA

You have to go BPA I just hope the Flyers keep their picks. I will be very upset if they use them at the dead line for anyone other then a #1 D-man

Agreed. Unless we're trading our first for someone like Weber or Suter, I want to keep it. We need to keep our picks and keep the youth movement going

I turned the game on with 44 seconds left in the 3rd. Amazing.

HD on CSN? I thought it was only on TCN. Did they switch feeds after the Sixers game ended on CSN?

Oh and does anyone know if TCN is offered in HD and if so is it available to Fios customers?

Oh no that's my bad. You said sportsnet and I just assumed Comcast SportsNet (CSN).

Wellwood has been a factor since coming back from injury. I don't know the exact stats, but doesn't it seem like they hit their funk when he was out and started winning again when he returned? I suppose others were out while he was out as well like Gus and Marshall etc but it seems like he (Wellwood) is a catalyst for them. 3 points on the night for him has brought him dangerously close to a point a game.

I was thinking more of why the flyers couldn't come up with a jersey like the Phantoms.

I was very disappointed to learn that they were auctioned off live after the game instead of them going on eBay.
