Just like that, Stefan is the biggest 1st overall draft bust again.

My second GDT ever and have some ideas for the future. All being more or less silly since I try to make up the lack of quality with all this random stuff I come up with late at night.

Dallas needs to be very physical on the leafs - especially their top line which is really the only threat on that team. Every time Kessel or Lupul touch the puck they better be plastered into the boards.

Just looking at the lineups Dallas should have a large edge in skating tonight, they'd better take advantage by working thier ***** off every shift!

They finally figured out it might be a good idea to get Larsen some powerplay time. It was clearly super tempting to have a depth forward play such an important role but it shockingly just didnt work out.

I hope Dallas underestimates the Leafs as much as you do. It's not like Tim Connolly is a point per game or that Colborne and Crabb were best in the AHL. It's also not like the Leafs are one of the highest scoring teams in the league or have the 3rd best powerplay.

There's a lot of underestimating going on in the leafs GDT as well, I suggest you whine about it there

You do realize a huge part of that is because of the one line right? It's not like that line doesn't factor into those two things.

Connolly has never produced at a PPG pace in his career, and yes, he's at it now, but don't expect it to stick. And besides, he's missed half of this season's game so far already.

So? AHL stats very rarely translate to the NHL. And besides, all that matters is what they're doing now, not what they did in the AHL.

And while their offense has looked good, it's too early to really say that. I'm not taking anything away from that offense (it really is quite good), but the first line is about 30 of those goals. Shut them down, and the Leafs are instantly down there with the Islanders in terms of scoring.

And to make up for it, your PK% is 27th in the league. See? We can do it too.

Also, the Leafs' defense is giving up more GA per game than they're scoring. And especially when you consider how they've been blowing out their opponents recently, it kind of slants the numbers. Make those games a bit more average (3 or 4 to 1) those numbers would be even worse.

And don't bother coming back with Dallas' numbers. I know they're bad, but they're quite similar if you were to compare them side by side with the Leafs.

So no, contrary to what you think, this game shouldn't be one-sided either way. And sorry, but the Leafs' aren't an elite team yet either.

Leafs PK is 86% the last 10 games. The GA has nothing to do with defense and everything to do with inconsistent goaltending, playing your #2 and #3 goalies.
