If the Lightning have the skill advantage, which they always do, they need to have a quick breakout like they're doing. The defensemen set the tone for the rush. Brew-dog tends to slow it down for whatever reason.
Quick counter-attack leads to wanting to forecheck aggressively, leading (eventually) to infinite goals.
What the Lightning were doing when everyone else was slowing down last season, was staying intense.
You can actually blame Jones for a bit of that. When the Lightning are really going, they're pretty close to rolling lines. 3 minutes per game is bad division.
