OK first period overall. I can't remember too many other periods where we've been outshot and yet we have a lead. Great play by Backes and Elliott put us in front.

Hopefully our game improves in the second period and maybe we can grab a 2 goal lead.

Yeah that could have been really bad. I thought he was split for sure.

can we decline all PPs and just request a 2 minute PK instead?

old man Iginla looks so bad this year, I wonder if he's really lost it or just snake bitten. Kipper is on his game though.

Sobotka is really playing an intense game (just as he did in the last 2). What did he put in his Wheaties??? Too bad he's not all that good at finishing. If he were, he'd be a $5 million forward!

Elliott should get 2 games to every one for Halak, until the balance in their level of play changes. Elliott and the PK are going to win this game for The Blues. Great effort.

Turning into a nasty game, Elliott is winning the fans over and this Blues team is tenacious on the PK. if this is Hitch hockey, I'm considering the kool-aid.

Backes with another hard working muscle play, setting up a fantastic shot by Pietrangelo! 2-0!

The 4th line is looking really good tonight, Im liking the Nichol signing a lot and Sterling has impressed me in his 2 games as well. Its also so much nicer having Reaves out there actually playing hockey rather than Janssen just running around.
