Where are the Oilers going to play if the Pens have their arena?

The Flyers could offer Giroux, JVR, Voracek, Schenn, Couturier AND Coburn and the Pens would STILL say NO!!! The Fleyrs would be massively over-paying but Crosby means more to the Pens than ANY combination of other parts you want to put together. The Pens would be a better TEAM after my trade but they would npt be a better FRANCHISE afterwards.

Crosby is the face of hockey, he's by far the best player in the world and I'm certain he generates far more than his 8.7 mil a year in salary in revenue for the franchise. The Gretzky situation in Edmonton was far different than the current Crosby situation in Pittsburgh. Maybe things change for Sid and the Pens (and then his asking price would be reasonable) but right now there is NOTHING anybody could put together to pry him out of Pittsburgh.

Did you read the OP? We KNOW crosby will not be traded. Its a thread for FUN to say what your team would offer were he on the trading block, even though we all know it will NEVER happen. I dub thee Buzz Killington.

Doesn't make a lot of sense for the Flames to go after Crosby due to how weak the team would be after the trade (or how to work it financially). I guess something like Giordano+Tanguay/Bourque+Baertschi+2012 1st? I know Iginla should be in there, but his cap hit makes it hard to add players from Calgary's side.

TO PIT:
RW Marian Hossa
2012 1st-Round Pick
2013 1st-Round Pick
2012 Conditional 2nd-Round Pick (if CHI makes SCF)
C Brandon Pirri
LW Bryan Bickell
RW Michael Frolik

TO CHI:
C Sidney Crosby

The only challenge will be trying to find a line for him to center (assuming Kane stays at his current position, what nimrod puts Patrick Kane as their third line center, let alone Sidney freaking Crosby?)

To Pittsburgh:
Spezza, Michalek, Rundblad/Zibanejad OR 2 of: (Puempel/Noesen/Silfverberg + Stone)

To Ottawa:
Crosby + Kennedy (for cap purposes)

Ottawa
Greening-Crosby-Alfredsson
Foligno-Regin-Butler
Daugavins-Smith-Condra
Winchester-Konopka-Neil

Kuba-Karlsson
Phillips-Lee
Gonchar-Cowen
Carkner

Pittsburgh
Sullivan-Malkin-Neal
Kunitz-Spezza-Michalek
Cooke-Staal-Kennedy
Asham-Park-Dupuis

Michalek-Martin
Orpik-Letang
Niskanen-Engelland
Rundblad

Top Prospects:
1) Bennett
2) Silfverberg
3) Morrow
4) Noesen
5) Tangradi
6) Despres
7) Puempel
8) Stone
9) Kühnhackl
10) Jeffrey

So, Sens give the farm and its a pretty bad deal for Pittsburgh... Makes them a worse team today, and even though the young players will help eventually, Pittsburgh still has pretty insane depth regardless.

The only way for the Flames to get Crosby is the following process:

1. Flames ownership purchase the Penguins
2. Ownership fires Shero
3. Ownership hires me as replacement
4. Me trades Crosby to Flames for Backlund, Bourque, and 1st.
5. Ownership fires me as "incompetent"
6. ....
7. Profit!

Not only all of that, which I agree with...but adding further complications is Sid's concussion history. He's basically going to have that question mark lingering for the rest of his career, and there's no way a team gives equal value for him, let alone the type of overpay it would take to get the Pens to move the face of their franchise. I actually think something like Giroux, Voracek, one of Schenn/Couturier, and a 1st would be more than fair...but the Flyers would never offer that and the Pens would never accept it.

A value of: Evgeni Malkin thread would be more interesting. I think they'd move Malkin, and I'm interested in seeing how they leverage him into a retooling of that roster. Malkin could be the answer to that "#1 C to Buffalo" thread...

Aside from Crosby's value to the organization, there's no way they take that trade. The skill coming back isn't even remotely close..

Still don't like it. Crosby is the Pens. I know this is a game, but in order to get him a team pretty much has to give up their identity.

Holy overpayment batman.

Schenn + Voracek + Couturier for Crosby. Thats the maximum I would offer. Not that they would ever accept that.

If you're going to be a double agent you should at least try to work Stajan in there somewhere.
