and Seth Jones, is he injured or something?
Do the statistics tell the story? They're putting up points that would be impressive in their draft year
There is no way Barkov won't go 1st overall in 2013. When you see a combination of pure skill, size and workethic like Barkov you have to take him. Barkov and MacKinnon are better prospects than anyone in 2012 so they would be 1st and 2nd

Really find it hard to believe that Mackinnon does not get taken first.
I will, and he may, but to say that there is no way he doesn't go first is a bit of stretch, especially when you have a player doing things like Mackinnon is.
If Barkov was playing in the juniors you would see him shredding a league like Q to peaces. As a 16 year old he is stronger than MacKinnon will ever be and he is a better 2-way player than Mackinnon.
I really don't see anything that can put Mackinnon before Barkov in the draft.

How many live games have you seen Mackinnon play?
I haven't seen Barkov play live, so I can't comment on him, but save us from your bias bs or "No way Barkov doesn't go first overall" when you haven't seen players like Mackinnon or Jones live.

Barkov is doing things which are rarely seen in europe in an top league if ever. I'll see mackinnon go 1st overall at this point just because he plays in NA and many NHL scouts see him every game. When Barkov get his leg strength adapted to his huge frame ( already boosted little bit). Barkov is an challenger for sure like many known prospect writer thinks that Barkov is MacKinnons biggest threat for first overall. Playing in FEL as an 2nd line center +15min a game and leads his team in -/+ with an +5 in a -29 team is as good what MacKinnon has done. Next year i expect Barkov to be an +20 TOI player for his FEL team and put up decent points. Could fall like Nick Bäckström because of limited views.
Barkov is challenger for MacKinnon but you never know how the teams gonna pick. It's hard to ignore an monster who is probably 6'4-6'5 +220 lbs at the draft with Datsyuk like skills and smartness and who is an future selke candidate player at this point, who blocks shots, play 100% for his team. But MacKinnon is special aswell. Granlund was the smartest player for the 2010 draft. Barkov is nearly as smart player if not as smart with NHL-frame. Just trying to say that MacKinnon isn't clear #1 at this point. If Barkov has developed his skating bit more before the draft he could really well go #1 over MacKinnon.
I think we all wear the goggles to some extent, I'm certainly a little biased towards Canadian kids I do have trouble believing that you'd see Barkov as a lock for 1st overall in 2013 if you weren't half Finnish.
How does 2013 stack up against the top 5 in 2006? Pulock and Roy compared to Murray and Dumba? Would Monahan go top 5 in this years draft? How come Seth Jones has only played 4 games.
