Even our opponent fans know our coach is the weakest link.

Just got back from the game, have a few notes:

-Everyone played pretty good. Nobody awful.
-Semin was like dr jekyll and mr hyde... Half the time he was a workhorse, half the time he was lazy as hell.
-Our best line was Eakin Johansson Ward by far... until BB broke them up
-Orlov and Carlson were fabulous to watch on the PP... the PP where Carlson scored was a great PP.
-Neuvirth was fine. 4 of the goals were not his fault.. the crowd agreed on this one.
-Im convinced BB has to go. Awful at matching lines, and unnecessarily edited lines a little before the 3rd... and didn't do a good job at making the lines either.

Not when you consider how frustrating the bipolar roller coaster that this team plays with is.

I will support this team regardless of wins and losses when they show up and give the effort. This team doesn't give that effort game to game. Sometimes it seems they win in spite of themselves and it's frustrating. BB is not getting this team motivated to do the work as a team and it shows in games like tonight. If he can't get it done then it's time to make a change. How many benchings and messages does he have to send?

**** these times are frustrating...If the top 6 plays well bottom 6 is average or crap, if bottom 6 plays great top 6 is useless... sprinkle that with ****** goaltending when it matters the most and there you have it - Washington Capitals.
Good: Ovy, Orlov and Baby Dino were by far the best players on the ice.
Bad: everything else.

The Rangers scored more goals than the Caps today.....

hopefully someone can post who I hate, want traded/fired, how furious I am, and anything else I need to know so I can start to process my feelings about the game and the team

The biggest things that jumped at me about this game: There is no cohesive play by the team in general and also, we lose majority of board battles...

Its clear to me. You need a beer and some turkey gravy on toast. Ok...nobody needs that but I am not letting a lousy hockey game mess up an otherwise good holiday weekend.

got another game tomorrow night against a team that was totally embarrassed today too. it should be captivating.

The Caps' defense is regressing rapidly. They're down to 24th in the league in GAA. OTOH, they are 4th in the league in G/G.

Fire Evason....find some HOF D who wants to be an assistant and bring him in. Chris Chelios anyone? Working with the Wings front office, focusing on D at Grand Rapids if I remember correctly.

Isn't Woods the D coach? Or did Evason move over to D once Leach moved on?

I know Evason WAS the assistant. I never heard of a switch if there was one. Dunno, I feel like an assistant with some chops, with a little stroke, a guy with HOF credentials and Cups would be a huge improvement.

Larry Robinson, if not for health issues would be on my short list too...

For all this talk about BB's "system", Caps seem like the most tactically retarded team in the NHL. Tonight we were simply horrendous in the defensive zone.

The problem is they're playing a defensive system, but they don't have the right personnel for it. So, in short, they still aren't very good at D, but instead of focusing on offense, which they are good at, they're possessing the puck less by dumping it in every time, and as a result are playing defense even more=not good.

Also I hope we either win big, or get absolutely buried tomorrow so BB gets fired. No more just squeaking by, or losing close to save BB's ass. Win big and show progress, or make changes.

Woods has handled the D since Leach left. His pairings have left something to be desired but unlike last season he hasn't really had six D playing at a consistent high level. His pairings have also been handcuffed by having to manage the mobility in a given pairing.

Inconsistent D play makes this team worse than last season and arguably the worst Boudreau team yet. They miss Green but managed without him last season by being more disciplined. It's hard to expect them to put together any winning streaks with a combination of sloppy team D, sloppy possession and mediocre goaltending.

Exactly.
And it's not even like we were being outplayed when he shuffled.
Me and a bunch of other fans around me were literally dumbfounded as to why he was shuffling them.

This is our problem in a nutshell. BB's tactical schemes, whatever their merit may be, don't fit the personnel he has available. Why are we still running the dump and chase system when our top forwards are Europeans who aren't any good at it?
