NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

Jets win.....

Burmi gets a goal.

Jet's get a B+ in this game. Burmi gets an A- (doesn't get a hat trick).

All is good in the world again.

Predicts:

Burmi gets decent ice time but 0 points, fans here still find him beyond criticism and love him. Wheeler and Byfuglien score and/or assist, continue to improve but everyone continues to hate them.

Jets win, 4-2. Empty netter by Buff in the third.

Sorry. I am a big Burmi fan and hope he starts playing better but the Burmi Kool-Aid and the Big Wheels hate around here wears on me. Personally my wish is that all three of those guys get 2+ points tonight.

According to Dan Kamal, these are our forward lines for tonight:

Ladd - Antropov - Wellwood
Kane - Little - Wheeler
Glass - Slater - Burmistrov
Thorburn - Stapleton - Fehr

^^^ Slater with Burmi is...interesting. Not sure if those two will mesh well. We'll see.

I fail to see why we separate Slater and Thorburn (and Glass). Against a team like Carolina, they'd do wonders keeping the puck in the offensive zone I'd bet. That line just seems to pick the entire team up and on many nights really lifts the bench and momentum for us.

Oh well, here we go.

At this morning’s skate, defenceman Ron Hainsey, who returned Wednesday in Washington after missing 16 games with upper- and lower-body injuries, left the ice early and might not be available tonight.

Coach Claude Noel said Hainsey’s status will be determined at gametine.

Against the Hurricanes, the Jets look as if they’ll be inserting forward Tim Stapleton and defenceman Artrus Kulda instead of Jason Jaffray and Mark Flood.

That 3rd line will be interesting to watch. Slater might be relegated to 3rd and 4th line duties, but he's got reasonable skills. Gives us two C's on that line, gives Burmi lots more ice time, and all three work their butts off. Looking forward to see how they play together.

It's almost like we're trying to get more out of Slater because he might be turning into more then just a 4th line center. If that's the case though, I think Slater and Kane would work well together. Both play more of a straight line game.

Those bottom 2 lines are interesting to say the least.

When Thorburn is off Slater's line, he doesn't really do much (aside from PK).

Your "Mod" status should be revoked immediately.
The surprising thing to be about Slater is his skill level. We knew he was gritty and was going to chip in on offense, but he makes some pretty nice plays and goal scorer moves/ shots.

I could see Burmi and Slates really meshing well together. I know one thing, you won't be worried about getting scored on when they are on the ice.

TSN is reporting the lines I have in the OP...

And thank you Jet, one of my all-time favourites, for sure LP's best song of all-time, it more than cancels out the rest of this fail thread

Agree 100% (see my post above) - that line definitely won't get outworked, and it'll be interesting to see if Slater and Burmi can do something together offensively. My assumption is that that line will get line-matched with Staal's line - reasonable assumption? They'll have their work cut out for them, but should be able to generate a few chances of their own. EDIT: they might not get line-matched, which might make for an interesting night for this line.

The 4th line is a bit worrisome - you have a small center that doesn't shoot but is a reasonable playmaker, grouped with a good winger who's just getting his feet back under him after an injury, and Thorburn, who arguable plays best with Slater and Glass because of his grinding style. I don't see that line getting more than 5-7m of time tonight. Carolina will definitely try to get their top line out against them.

Mason expected to start according to WPG SUN...

And WJG, it would be really interesting if Kulda goes in for Flood as the FP suggests, they have not seemed very high on him at all so far (very early cut in TC, basically last D called up, etc) so to put in ahead of Flood would be a drastic change, wondering if they liked him in his 3 games (like I have)...Although it sounds irrelevant since it sounds like Hainsey will be out
