Not sure if posted earlier but Tavares got fined for the slash on Parise.

Well, I was probably the only one "complaining" about White and Lou caught everyone by surprise by waiving him. The coaching staff must feel the same way about A-Train since they are giving him the least amount of ice time out of our entire d-core and that includes Bryce Salvador.

I never saw a coach not utilise his best assets, just saying

In regards to that last comment, we see it all the time. Byalsma's love-affair with grinders, Alain Vigneault's love affair with checking wingers and Aaron Rome, John Maclean? Coaches play favorites, it happens all the time.

Would a coach with such little faith in Salvador and Volchenkov play them ALL THE TIME (how it feels to me) in the defensive zone?

Coaches are there to win games, period. They are not there to win a popularity contest with player x, y, z.

I wouldn't have a problem with Volchenkov if he was earning Hall Gill type money but he isn't. He's a bottom pairing SAH d-men that can throw big hits and work wonders on the PK. That, to me, isn't worth 4.25M$ per and the length of his deal makes it even worst.

I just hope that his worth will be justified in the playoffs cause IMO, that's one of the main reasons why Lou picked him up. On the other hand, his grenade handling skills might bite us in the ass if he turns the puck over via the breakout. There's not as much room to roam in the SCP so he might actually be utilised more then what we are seing atm.

Ideally you'd have a good puck mover alongside Volchenkov but also somebody who is good in his own zone. He worked extremely well alongside Chris Phillips who is decent at moving the puck but was one of the top shut down defenders in the game during that time.

What would be the best option for us? Salvador has his moments where he looks like a mid pairing shut down defender but also has moments where he looks terrible. There are also instances where he makes a nice breakout play or even leads the breakout himself. Too much inconsistency, though.

I would like to see Urbom improve his game in the AHL and get a shot alongside Volchenkov. They looked very good together in this year's pre-season.

Calling Volchenkov a bottom-pairing defenseman solidifies my opinion of you DATW. And that's you have no clue what you are talking about. Your ***** boy PMD's wouldn't have half the heart that Volchenkov does. He's someone I want to go to war with, not a sissy like Kaberle which you absurdly claimed you would trade Volchenkov for.

He's not here to be an offensive catalyst or to move the puck so just leave it alone already man. It's incredibly annoying.

Watch who is sent out for defensive zone face offs today. That will tell you who the coach believes in most often. 4th liners almost never are sent, and your weak defense pair aren't either. I bet you see Volchenkov and Salvador more than not. PK duty is another indicator.

But what do I know...
