They aren't gonna send prv down while the oilers are flying through America. But I expect a send down after the game tomorrow

i loved how hordichuck played tonight, and it looks like gagner is coming around. peckham took another step in the right direction, reducing turnovers, simplifying his game.

but what are they doing with prv, totally ruining him, and belanger is terrible in all areas except for faceoffs. He completely whiffed on 3 shots/passes today, turned the puck over in the D zone, and yet remains on our 2nd PP unit...

I would trade prv and keep omark looking for a good d man. PRV is a skill replicated on this team by hall. He has played well defensively but he has more value to the Oil in a trade than he does as a defensive player.

Smyth, RNH, Eberle... wonderful game as well. Smyth is the perfect compliment to that line. RNH had one mistake, but it's been one of very few this season.

It is so nice to have a 1A and 1B line. Either of these lines is a threat to score at any point throughout the game.

Solid win.
The average shooting % is 10 to 11%. so if he is missing a few. What is a few?

Hall and Hemmer did not have Chemistry!
Hall had Chem with Horc last year
well Hemmer and Horc nuf said.

Hall, Horc , and Hemmer those two are a nice fit on either side of him. Since together
Horc 4G 3A 1.75PPG +4
Hall 4G 3A 1.75PPG +4
Hemmer 2G 2A 1PPG +3

we can hope for 1 PPG from the line.
All three are capable.

It's a little misleading because I'm pretty sure a bunch of those Hall goals were assisted by RNH or Eberle actually as Renney still brings the kids together for certain times and the PP.

But they're doing OK together (Hall-Horc-Hemsky). This is the first time in a long time it feels like the Oilers have a legit two scoring lines.

regardless of what we do with prv, omark is never going to be a long term player for, probably wont be in the organization heading into next season.

saying prv is redundant because of hall isnt a very good point either. smyth wont be this good (or on the team) for many more years. Hemsky and gagner are huge question marks going forward, we should absolutely not be looking to move prv out.

im not saying hes untouchable, but if youre going to trade him, it better be for something good, and frankly i dont know if he has that kind of value right now.

A couple more stats: EDM is tied (SJ) for 4th on the PP. They are tied for 6th (VAN) on the PK. Wow...

Nope, NHL.com says that RNH has 12 PPP, Sedin has 13 and he also plays tonight so that may be a few more

They've been on different lines for a few games now. Smyth taking Hall's spot on the kid line and Hall playing with horcoff and Hemsky.

Yah I thought so too. Definitely needs to refine his game a bit and start shooting at the net (I get why he doesn't) but overall there has been some progression.

i thought acouple of his intended misses were brilliant, and weve had some D that like to blast it into shinpads for a bounce out to center

In a few cases, he had a clear chance to take a shot at the net but he chose to shoot it at the boards for some reason.

I was in New York City today for Black Friday. Didn't see any of the game, so pleased to come home and see these results.

did you see yeo's comments after the game? he skates in circles, saying that the first 2 goals shouldn't have counted. khabby played a real good game though, wasn't mentioned once by anyone. funny yeo didn't mention anything about the setoguchi's goal. its a win. woop woop! Yeo is gonna watch the tape and still not know what just happened to him.

The Wild game day thread is a funny read. Apparently they are very sensitive about being called "Minny" and, of course, the boring hockey accusation has them very upset. Seems they are unimpressed with RNH and think he will wilt when someone "runs him over". And Hordichuk is a big cheap coward (although they were not very happy with Staubitz). Pretty touchy for a team that had owned us for 17 straight games in their barn.

It's the safer play and can lead to a rebound goal. But he does have a decent shot and with more playing time he will start to direct more rubber towards the net and risk the shot block.
