Hall had Chem with Horc last year
well Hemmer and Horc nuf said.

Hall, Horc , and Hemmer those two are a nice fit on either side of him. Since together
Horc 4G 3A 1.75PPG +4
Hall 4G 3A 1.75PPG +4
Hemmer 2G 2A 1PPG +3

we can hope for 1 PPG from the line.
All three are capable.
That's all well and good, but how about that Ryan Nugent-Hopkins?

That kid looks like the real deal!

Man if Whitney can get himself upto snuff and Potter can get himself back into the line-up before Christmas this is going to continue to be a very fun year. So glad I didn't stop being an Oiler fan through the painful 90's.

Fan since day 1 and I agree its been mighty painful at times. But there is so much to be excited about right now...still a few more bumps I'm sure.

Had to listen to the game while at work, glad that i got to listen to the win! Wish I could have watched it live though.

I remember someone pointing out how while Smid and Gilbert have been great, they were still posting minus +/- ratings. Have not seen anyone mention this yet, but Smid and Gilbert were +3 tonight. This moves Smid to +1 for the year, and Gilbert to -2. Slowly but surely there solid play is starting to show up in positive +/- results.

If Whitney can stay healthy and return to form, if we can find another legitimate #2/#3 defender, our defense will be super solid.

Now this is the question.

The Stars were struggling... Oilers lose

Predators were on a hot streak .... Oilers win

Minny was a hot streak, 5 games ... Oilers win

Avs playing uninspired hockey ... ?????

And the Oilers pretend-journalists are comparing Hordichuk to Burrows in terms of cowardice. Nice.

Apparently he's supposed to be willing to fight at all times, including when he's on his knees.

And we're hypocrites for complaining when Burrows and Ott turtle.

Protecting yourself when you are vulnerable isn't turtling in my book. Burrows sucks someone into a fight and then plays like he his a victim of some viscous mauling...gimme a break, big difference. Hordichuck is always game and has the career majors to prove it.

We are behind the Hawks, Canucks, Sharks, Wings in scoring. 14th overall.

I posted it before they updated the Canucks victory tonight, but nhl shows us as third in the conference. We're ahead of the Wings by 1 and the Sharks by 4 (though they've played 2 less games). Still, it's good company.

He is being provided space by the likes of Hall and Smyth and taking advantage of the space he never had in JR. (Position rank in brackets) Smyth(3), RNH(4), Eberle(7) is the one of the three best lines currently in the NHL.

Pretty touchy for a team that had owned us for 17 straight games in their barn.
Is that why they are calling the Oilers "Eddy"? Cute.

I saw one guy call Oiler fans clueless and then said the Oilers have been boring since the early 2000s. Guess he missed 2006. Meanwhile another poster is complaining about the crease rule not being enforced. wat

The amount of whining in that GDT is just sad. Calls for Hordichuk to be ejected or stretchered off. Classy.

Used to have a pretty healthy respect for Minny fans. Between those couple threads, the dink calling us fairweather fans in that locked thread and some of the recent comments I've been reading from them, I'm starting to lose that respect.

Also, our retard media should be ashamed of themselves. Hordi should drop the gloves when he's laying on the ice? Get real.

You know i give Renney a lot of credit here. I think it was after the Ottawa game, he encouraged that the guys have the know that he believes in the team and they have to work together to get out of the slump.

Said the guys should know that he is behind them 100%, and they just have to relax.

Hordichuk played really great with his 4th line agitator role this game. Unless Ben Eager is still suffering from concussion, he may be the first player getting traded this season.

Impressed with how RNH reacted after his empty net goal. Absolutely no celebration, did not raise his arm, not even a smile, just a nod and an acknowledgement to Eberle's gift. You can tell he wasn't quite happy with his game today and he's just keeping things in perspective with this being an empty net with a 2 goal lead.

yes

ALSO

eastern conference is a pretty high scoring league. East has 9 60 goal teams, West has 4

Oil also 27th in FO. Lots of that is probably from kids, Nuge brings the average down for the team heavily. But the Oilers pick and choose when it comes to FO, so it can be misleading

Was it just me or did the Oil dictate a lot of the physicality of this game?
I PVR'd and just got finished watching. I'd like to see the tally of hits in the game but it seemed to me like the Oil were laying the body quite a bit, which was VERY nice to see.

also Heatley -3, Seto -3, Koivu -3.
