Because the win was a fluke.

The Can was almost sold out last night?

17684 people according to NHL.com, kinda surprising given our teams perfromance and who we were playing, we need to keep filling the Can up, add omse energy to the team at home, really wish I live in Denver so I could go to these games!

No we are *****ing about a win because we still played like garbage. We got plain and lucky that Edmonton played the night before and ran out of gas in the 3rd.

We still have no offense (we are not going to get 3 goals each night from our defense), we still have a totally incompetent head coach who only gets wins by dumb luck and we still have lost more than we've won, and we still really struggle at home which shouldn't happen.

So while I'm glad that we got a W it still doesn't cover up all of the short comings of this team. Maybe I'll feel differently if we go on a winning streak but for now it was nice to get a win but there are still tons of issues.

Hey guys figured I'd give an formerav/nowOilersfan's perspective on the avs

Quite simply put, they were NOT a good hockey team, they couldn't pass, they couldn't skate, It seemed like the game plan was skate out onto ice, 5 people chase puck in the defensive zone and I don't even recall a great possession shift in the offensive zone.

It seemed like these were new lines and no one had chemistry, and your defense seemed dreadful except for Elliot, he made some smart plays but mostly made plays that are simple yet seem so hard for players like SOB, hunwick, peckham to do.

Do the avs not play a system at all defensive wise? or was that the system? Don't get me wrong, they scored 4 goals and the oilers scored 2 , But to pull up the old excuse book.. The backup Dubnyk had a bad game (he normally plays great against you guys), and I think the Oilers were tired, as we went monday, tuesday doubleheader, then friday saturday doubleheader.

Your power play was almost embarrassing, Aside from the 1 goal that once again normally would have been had by most goalies, there was not any effort put into puck battles, Like the 5on3 you guys win the faceoff yet the oilers still get the puck out of the zone, like where was the effort?

I guess that is the keyword, I don't think the avs had any real effort until the Oilers were running on empty in the third, got 2 lucky goals and momentum and the Oilers collapsed

Please don't take this as Oilers played better avs got lucky and I'm a bitter person, I was an avs fan until I moved to Canada and I really hope to see them do well

The person you quoted should never be quoted. She is entertaining (in a, "tin-foil" hat kinda way) at the best of times, and outright ignored and fought against at the worst of times on the Oilers' board. Not to say a lot of people aren't upset, but really, this is the last person you should listen to. She is that crazy relative you lock in her room when the neighbors come over to visit.

It is good luck for the Avs, which is what he meant. Not like everyone is celebrating and hoping his career is over. Our division rival might be without one of their best players for a little while, it's good for the Avs.

Kind of an embarrassing effort IMO. I remember the old days on these boards when trolling attempts had some semblence of intelligence and thought.

C'mon, you should really try some subtlety next time if you are capable.
