It's going to be about a month before the Sabres have any significant number of these players back. They need to just play .500 hockey and hold onto something close to a playoff spot in the standings.

Heck, seeing that they've played much better on the road than at home, why not play a road-style game every night?

It couldn't hurt. Make them stay at one of the downtown hotels, with a curfew and no access to their homes? And take away the cushy new dressing room too. Make 'em get dressed in the train depot across the street.

Unplug the Keurig machine too. Make it tough on 'em.

I expect a lot of 1-2-2 tonight from the Sabres.

Agree......... Question: do you recall them ever playing a 1-3-1?

Yep and they've used it before to hold leads. Or rather try to hold leads

Injuries or not guys should look like they actually want to play the game. I have absolutely no problem with losing a game to a good team or bad if the sabres look like they gave it their all. Unfortunately (and this uas been an issue for YEARS) they look like they give it their all for maybe 20 minues a game if we're lucky.

A good chunk of these issues are always an issue with this team.
Did you copy/paste this from the Caps board?!?

On the plus side, Ovechkin looked like the old Ovechkin last night, so maybe there'll be something to watch there. Very sloppy game by the Caps last night against NYR, so have fun with us. Just take the puck toward Hamrlik and you'll be fine. Vokoun is starting in net, so go five-hole or shoot from behind the goal line.

7-1 Sabres in the Caps' second epic collapse of the season against a team with over 7 starters injured. Caps fans cheer because Boudreau is fired during the post-game presser.

Do all Caps fans want this guy gone? It seems like a lot of them on HF do.

Why are they acting so mysterious about who the injured forward is?

Playing without Miller, Ennis, Kaleta, Myers, McCormick, Regehr, Boyes, Weber, and now another forward.
I will be going tonight.
Majority of the remaining players have not played up to their potential.

It will be another embarrassing loss at home

5-1 Caps

Adam, Leino or Hecht with the lone goal

I hope Ruff just opens it up. Let the offensive dmen rush the push up the ice. Trying to fit them into a defensive system could get ugly fast. Then again, opening it up could get ugly faster....

Most likely, Buffalo's only goal will be scored by Pom.

Maybe it's Vanek from the Carter hit late in the game and since nobody responded it wouldn[t look good.

That'd be awful. I thought the hit looked pretty innocent on the replay last night, though that might not have been it. Any predictions on injury?

Well, if that happened I am not worried.

We will just play a physical game the next time we play Columbus next season, lose in a shootout and tell the world that if we play that way every night they'll win a whole bunch of games.

That'll show 'em all around the league we finally mean business.

Tonight is going to be an interesting and maybe hard game to watch.

Buffalo's at it again sending Rookies out on the ice. Brayden McNabb is going to be playing his first Nhl game tonight. D'oh!

Well, if the Sabres lose this game... I officially give up.

I can't imagine that's the reason why. We're going to know by gametime tonight who it is. So it would hardly be protecting the team to not tell us for one day.

I think the Sabres will give a heck of a lot better effort tonight but they are just too short handed to come out on top.

Caps 4, Sabres 2
