When I moved to Edmonton, I swallowed a lot of pride and hap-hazardly cheered for the Oil. I did it because I wanted to show support for the community I live in, but I ALWAYS maintained that it was only temporary until Winnipeg got a team back. On May 31, 2011, that ceased to be. I dumped the Oil like a tonne of bricks. My loyalty was always to Winnipeg and always will be. Besides, it would be just wrong to continue to cheer for a old hated divisional rivalry with Winnipeg back in the mix. But that is just me.

I like having the ability of choice. I understand your frustration, but I also have my set of ideals. Hope it's a good game.

Good clean fun.

20 years as a coach is now defined as a lack of experience?

If you dislike me for this, go ahead, it won't hurt my feelings.

I'm a STH and have missed a total of one Jets game on a night when I was sick. Just because I cheer for the Rangers as my primary team, doesn't mean I'm not a rabid fan of the Jets.
I'm pretty much of the same view.

I've cheered for Edmonton for eight years. Never did I give up on them or stop watching every damn game. I'm not going to abandon them just because of the Jets. Without the ability to watch many Oiler games this year, I have been following the Jets a lot more than Edmonton.

Personally, I think it's opened my eyes and lessened the bias that I had when I cheered for only one team. It helps you enjoy the game moreso than the team.

Just my two pennies.

EDIT:
Another difference is that I never got to watch the Jets 1.0 due to my age. So yeah, I never had that emotional connection to them. You know?

This time around, that's totally different. I have a full blow emotional connection to this Jets team. And I love it.

See, the difference is, you were originally a Jets fan, I was not, I didn't live in Winnipeg when I grew to love my Rangers. If I had chosen another team until my team returned, sure I'd be dumping the temp.

I grew up on the Habs, not old enough to even have any memory of the old Jets, but when that announcement came on May 31st I dropped the Habs like a dirty shirt

Go Jets, have a feeling we lose this one 3-0 though. Hate the Bruins so hope I'm wrong.

This game will be a good test for the Jets. We've beaten some more skilled teams but none that are as physical.
I still miss Anthony Stewart.

I know we have no space for on RW with Wellwood, Fehr, Burmi/Antro, Wheeler and Thorburn, but if we could have converted him to LW then he'd give us a decent option for our third line. He might have been better than Jaffray or Stapleton.

It just sucks that the guy who was most excited about becoming a Winnipeg Jet never even got the chance.

Well, there's only 30 of those jobs, and there's an incestuous relationship in alot of them with the GM's and owners. I'm not holding the fact the old boys club keeps a lid on new blood against the guy.

He's only been successful at every level of hockey he's coached...

I kinda wonder, is there any way Boston fans would ever boo Kane?
