I'm just saying that even with the mistake Kovalchuk had a better game than Parise but is receiving much more criticism even though Parise had a direct turnover that led to the Islanders 2nd goal.
They both deserve equal criticism for their bone-headed plays, but it only seems like the one player gets it. I feel like you wouldn't know which one of them has 2 more points than the other in 4 less games played...
That's not the problem. It's having a legit top 6 center to pass to our LWers. I'm hoping one of Kovy/Parise form some type of chemistry with Elias and Sykora as I can see Zubie being moved around.
It is a problem. Kovalchuk is being forced to play there for the 2nd straight year because for some stupid reason we basically guaranteed a roster spot to Palmieri (but we didn't to Fayne, but I digress...).
Can you imagine if Lou hadn't done Sykora a favor and invited him to camp? Holy ****. We may have had Cam playing the 2nd line.
The mistake kind of led to a shorthanded GWG. That mistake was so egregious it cancels everything out plus some more. You can't can't well "besides that" because that was so awful.
Kovy did NOT cost us the game today. One 4 second play does not lose a 60 minute game. IDC if it was the GWG. There are 17 other players out there as well.

Some of you are being ridiculous
Well, it kinda did cost them the game. And that wasn't 1 play, I've seen alot of hockey and that's one of the worst turnovers I've ever seen. Embarassing turnover especially since it wasn't a secret that Grabner was poaching his ass off the entire game.
Parise obviously isn't meeting expectations, but is nowhere near the level of suck that Kovy. Why is this so hard to comprehend. The argument is so basic. Kovy isn't scoring and he's also a moron. Parise isn't scoring but isn't a moron
Not going to call people out but there were some very pro Larsson comments:
"Larsson was also fantastic, he looked very Niedermayer-esque playing rover for the D."
"Yep, Larsson was great tonight, no kidding."
"Larsson had a great game today too."
I wouldn't say Larsson sucked today, but it's hard to say he played really well when he and his partner had struggled a fair amount defensively.
I can't tell if it was more on Greene, for not trusting Larsson, or more on Larsson for not being trustworthy.
The first goal was bad foot speed by Greene more than Larsson and the second one, there was some breakdown because Bailey was wide open, didn't notice that. But the way he was pinching in and getting involved was good to see. I didn't say Larsson was Niedermayer, but the way he jumped up, it was like that.

Parise is still good defensively. He still helps the team. When Kovy isn't scoring, he's useless. And he's not scoring right now.
they both should have been primary. but who cares about the second one, he had lost the puck. it's just a matter of either no one in white touching the puck or the scorer not caring

And to buddy who I have on ignore, don't try and respond to me, because I can't read your ****. Nor do I care to. Most of his assists have been of the secondary variety. I'm not just talking about todays game. Now take a long walk off a short pier.
Just got done with the DVR, and the refs won this game. How the slash on Kovy is missed is beyond me, then he ends up in the box. Then somehow there's no makeup call as there usually is, and the refs take away the game tying goal. Just typical Devils being on the wrong side of the referees terrible calls again.
Of course, I come to the board and see Kovalchuk getting blamed. No surprise. Doesn't matter that he assisted on both goals, but whatever. I won't diverge into that any further because he's definitely not a scape goat.
