This place is really bipolar and outright crazy sometimes.
IATL was all about it being major bad news as we weren't hearing anything.

That was because they were going to amputate, surely.

That was Hall's goal; and I knew if he didn't score enough people would be out in full force (both in the fan base world and media) calling him a bust, etc. Little things like that goal DO matter even though people say it doesn't. I dont want him called things like a bust and with every game his goal drought went on it got worse and worse until the hat trick. I watched it happen on this very board. Little things like simple junk goals on the stat sheet keep that kind of talk down.
every single one of us know for sure that it was Halls goal but it is a team sport and Hall didn't care , why do you ?

Do you think its too much to hope for that the Oilers don't rush him back ?
I'd like to see him sit out extra games just to be sure he's healed .

I want him back asap. He isn't gonna heal extra in a week. Maybe a few months but not a few games

Of course you want him back as soon as possible. You're a rabid fanboy.

However I think giving Hall all the time in the world is the best choice for the team. Can't afford to rush him and then risk him developing a bum shoulder.

That's not necessarily true. He might heal extra in 1 week.

He's right on pace with the recovery time though isn't he? He likely wont be back tomorrow, but if he was, that would mark 2 weeks since the injury

2-4 weeks

I agree. The schedule is favourable. He can sit out without missing many more games.

Good thing Nuge and Ebs are hot right now, I'm not missing Hall as much as I would otherwise. I hope he takes all the time he needs, he's a cornerstone of the franchise and I don't want his shoulders to end up like Hemsky. Imagine Hall is he can't shoot or throw his body around.. he'd be a shell of his former self.

exactly, hall could get another 8 days rest and only miss 3 more games.... you gotta think that this would be smartest thing to do with him

CGY basically gets to play us 3 times when we are on a back to back and no Hall either time.

What? So time doesn't heal anything? I don't get this.

Of course an extra week is going to help heal his injury. Hell an extra hour is going to help heal his injury.

I think the media is blowing this out of proportion. Of course Sidney wants to play every game possible but come one, the only games that really matter are the post-season games. Might as well make sure he's 100% to go for those games.

I don't know if he'll ever be 100%, outside of him never being hit again this kid is in big trouble.

He'll be fine, these games mean nothing and as Bobby Mac was saying yesterday. It's probably paranoia.

Speaking of Hall, he would look really good next season Playing with Grigorenko.

I've noticed with his absence how little space is open on the ice. I didn't realize the impact he had that way until he was gone. Grigorenko is the kind of play maker, Spezza-esque who can toss passes all over the place as long as he has some space. I just think that duo would be heavenly.

Hall and Grigorenko
Eberle and Nugent-Hopkins

Toss whatever two wingers on there and you have two elite scoring lines.

No, I meant Grigorenko.

Drafting a defenseman with injury history is horribly risky.

I'd much rather take this stud, 6'2 centre with legendary offensive instinct to create a lethal 2-line attack than a hit and miss with an injured player. Although Murray could be a Doughty, his risk level is way too high.

I feel we can move some picks and players around and end up with a player like Koekkoek later on in the draft, thus helping our D issue, but not solving it.

And hurt our playoff chances? What are you trying to do? Tank? All joking aside, I completely agree, you shouldn't rush players back as a general rule of thumb, but when it is a potential franchise player, you REALLY don't rush them back.

I think HallofGreatness is just worried about his fantasy team, which is not the first thing you should think about when its a situation like this.
