Fiddler "probable" for Monday, so looks like Wandell will stay on the 4th line.

Your pretty high on Bachs. I love him, probably my favorite goalie prospect out of the 3. I know you catch a lot of Texas Stars game, whats the reason behind his slow start this year? His numbers don't look good.

I'd love to see him get at least one start but if Kari isn't out for long depending on the play of Raycroft we might not see him at all.

Texas plays ZERO defense now. It's all massive amounts of forechecking and praying we keep the puck in our opponents end.

I would like to have seen Ott moved to Fiddler's spot and recalled Fraser to play on one of those top lines.

Edit: I'm going to go ahead and say that Bachman will at least "get into" one game while he's here. I fully expect a Raycroft meltdown even not on a back to back situation and for someone to come in and mop up the mess.

No matter who is in net..If we want to be .500 or better we cant be allowing 35-40 shots in this period..we need to make sure our goalies are only facing 25-30 each night..

We outshot the Oilers, Kings, and Leafs by a healthy margin. The problem is the team coming to play and work moreso than structure. The Yotes game we looked like the exact same team as the Wings and Pens game because the team wasn't working or battling.

Looking at our light schedule next two weeks, this was probably the best time for Kari to get injured. If he is out 2 weeks, he'll miss only 4 games since Avs-game was already given to loser-Raycroft.

Looks like a lower groin pull, Gully estimated 3 weeks.

3 weeks, huh?

I said at the beginning of the year that we'll go as far as Kari takes us. It's not a stretch to guess that we'll win maybe 2-3 games and be almost completely out of contention by the time Kari is back.

contention for a playoff spot? I think it would take a worse run and/or kari out longer to really put us out of that one. You can expect a good run from this team at some point because they always seem to have one or two of those up their sleeves. The "at least" part is particularly scary with this injury. We could very well be without Kari for the rest of the calendar year.

Anyone else a little surprised to see Bachman not getting the start tomorrow?

No, why would he? We have 4 days off after and Gully has said he'll see a start sometime in New York.

I'm glad he's not starting Bachman tomorrow, Raycroft is doing well in the starting role right now, ride that and put Bachman in later in the road trip.

I'd rather him get his start at home against one of the worst teams in the league at the moment than against a divisional opponent, or the Rangers. It's basically 7 starts in a row for Raycroft, unless you choose the Rangers away over the Islanders at home, which I don't know why you would.

Gulutzan has to try to establish trust from the team in Raycroft for this upcoming tough stretch. You're not going to to do that by immediately going to someone else. I still think we're generally screwed here though.

Or we could play the Islanders away on the 15th. We have a back to back with the Devils there, I'm sure that's what Gully meant about him getting a start during the road trip.

7 in a row for Raycroft really isn't a big deal since we get so many days off, and its not like he played a ton this season.

Raycroft relies more on aggressiveness then his reflexes. I've noticed it a lot, he mostly challenges every shot.

Interesting stat from Heika:

Quote:
Since signing with the Stars last season, Raycroft is 1-8-1 when playing on the second night of a back-to-back games. When he is starting in non back-to-back games, he is 9-2-0 with a 1.88 GAA and .941 save percentage.

He did have a pretty solid year last season, picking up two shutouts and posting a winning record.

A quality placeholder for Bachman.
