Really what it boils down to is we are 17-5-1 with kari/bachs and 2-7 with raycroft and thats just not going to fly if your backup is losing 7 out of 10 games raycroft being waived or traded for peanuts us the only option

I think they are going to give Raycroft one more game or maybe a couple, and then depending on the outcome, they will decide what to do with him. That's what i would do at least, but maybe they've seen enough of Raycroft already, and are ready to make a decision. Right now though they are going with Richard Bachman because they are wining games with him and that's what it all comes down to.

If they were going to do it, it should've been the game against Anaheim.

With Philadelphia and Nashville before Christmas (aka Kari's return gate), and then in St. Louis the day after Christmas...the next three aren't the ones to be trying him out.

Maybe Columbus on the 29th?

I think they'll give Raycroft the start tomorrow, against Nashville. It'll probably be the last game before Kari comes back, and they'll want to give him a chance to prove he still deserves the backup spot.

Yea I think so too, because for a while now , it was pretty clear that Bachman was going to start each game. The last few games he's been average, and after the morning practice in Frisco gully said he will "discuss" it with Joe and let his goalies know who's starting.

I'm hoping for Raycroft, I got a good feeling about playing him tonight.

Interesting that they're giving Bachman his 7th start... Really continues to show the confidence level they have in Raycroft... or don't have...

Yep. How the **** they can keep him when Kari's back after showing no confidence in him the past 2 weeks will be beyond me.

Bachman's development would be better suited in the AHL, where he'll get more games in net.

The NHL team would be better off with two competent goalies. Bachman's 24, he's done the minor league thing. It's time for him to help the team that matters.

I'm guessing we'll see Raycroft waived when Kari's ready to come off the IR.

I doubt they get rid of Raycroft when Kari comes back, the team would be left with Kari, Bachman, Beskorowany. While Kari seems to have conditioned himself to prevent injuries you never know what might happen. If they get rid of Raycroft then what do you do if Kari gets injured again this season?

Calling up Bachman and Besko ends up hurting Texas stars and the development of who ever ends up having to ride the bench in Dallas.

I just think the more logical thing would be for Bachman to go down once Kari comes back, he'll get more games to play, and develop more. I'm pretty sure this is Raycroft last season with the Stars but, he's a better goalie then his win loss record someone posted earlier. Alot of those losses were on the second of a back to back night, which this team has sucked at everyone of them he's a more then capable backup. 5 of the 7 losses he's had are from back to back nights.

Once next season starts Bachman will likely be the backup and the Texas Stars will probably have Campbell playing for them.

You would waive him precisely so you wouldn't get rid of him. I agree that they need him in Cedar Park as an option in case of injury. Bachman is at the stage where it's fine to throw him in the deep end; Besko is not. I would be shocked if Raycroft is claimed either going down or coming up.

Mike Heika seems to think it's definitely a possibility to waive Raycroft.

It's definitely a sticky situation needing another person with Texas. After Beskro, we have nobody until Campbell's season is finished up. Definitely think waiving Raycroft is the best option though. This team has ZERO confidence in him and it would be a massive mistake to keep him up.

Gully said today that they see Bachman getting 7 starts between now and the end of February. Could be more if needed.
That's about 1 every 4 starts. We have 5 B2Bs in Jan+Feb. Bachman gets 2 extra normal starts? Will be interesting to see if Gully follows through.

Bachman should probably get the start against Nashville, or at latest @ home against Edmonton. That would be one every 4-5 games like Gully suggested he'd do. Kari looks like he could use some more good practice days.
