Wrong. Shoulder hit. If it was directly to the head do you think he only gets a bloody nose?
Dude, I'm not going to argue with you that water is wet. It just is.

No. It's Max's fault that he hit him in the head while Letang was in a vulnerable position.
And your comment is particularly funny because that's what Bruins fans said when Max was drilled into the post by Chara. It doesn't matter that he's in a vulnerable position or that he put himself into it. What matters is that it was taken advantage of with a nasty hit.
Anyways, folks are going to freak out over this for the next 25 pages so I'm just going to leave it here. The one thing I will say though is that if the tables were turned, you'd be asking for Letang's head. And the next time one of our players gets nailed this way, remember what you posted here.
If he played for Boston...explain to Shanny how he didn't mean to hit him in the head...get nothing.
Plays for the Habs...bring a video of the hit showing simultaeous contact with head and body plus comparable hits that got nothing...still gets 2 games because habs have no relatives at NHL head office.
Seriously...no way he should get anything for that, the impact was with the nose yaeh but at the same time as the shoulder/body.
He has to get at least one game for that. I'm sick of the punk attitude of this team. Then he's laughing on the bench about it. You dno't think the penguins are gonna forget that do you? We'll probably end up playing them in the playoffs now, watch.
He was targetting letang and not his head. His arms stayed on his body so no elbow. It wasn't blindsighted, just letang who didn't protect himself at all. He isn't a recidivist. Letang came back 10 minutes later.
What pisses me off is that if Patches gets suspended, he is now a offender. While that pos Chara breaks the kids neck and is a repeat offender and is told that he isn't. And Chara gets away scott free! BS!
Same thing will happen when a player runs a goalie like Lucic did who got off free. Odds are it happens to Thomas, Chara breaks another neck and the only suspension is the the player who ran Thomas.
I really hope the league sees it that way because I'd hate lose him for any time. He's been arguably our best player this season.
Just wanted to give you credit for the honest attempt at objectivity. If every fan base was as mature, there'd be much less need for this knee-jerk defensiveness exhibited by just about everyone on this board.
I haven't revisited the clip so I don't have a firm opinion, but I do understand the frustration felt by so many fellow Habs fans. Our players get hit and the opposing team gets nothing, so it's not surprising there's an emotional need to claim the same leeway that other teams seem to get. The hit itself, therefore, almost becomes secondary to the long political history of past suspensions.
I therefore vote to rename our conference the Middle Eastern Conference.
I say none. Pacio can't adjust at the last second because Letang changed his head position. Never targeted the head. If Shanahan is consistent, it will be no suspension, but again, you never know with the NHL and their clearly evident hate for Montreal. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED...
