Just give me 8-6 the rest of the way. 13-7 and I was laughed at, 8-6 doesn't sound that bad now does it. Just keep playing Montoya...

This team can make the playoffs with the players we have but some players need to be waived and some brought up from the bridge. Of course trades would be ideal...but wont happen

This team won't make the playoffs as constructed. They will vie for a lottery pick.

There were a few people trying to spike the football here after the small blurb of wins... Reality always wins.

One bad game against a top NHL team doesn't decide the outcome of the season.

Luck and youthful exuberance only goes so far in this league, man. The club lacks the talent to compete with the upper half of the league unless the team from the upper half plays below it's level. Tonight was a highlight reel for how to take it to our club and win. Every club that is more physical than the Islanders will beat them 5 out of 6 times. Add in the wimpy pylons we have on defense who couldn't catch up to a tractor in mud and you get even more losses.

Just watch - two more significant slumps on the way leading to a lottery pick.

We really need to upgrade on D. Streit looked abysmal last night, and when Hamonic left everyone fell apart. Probably another year in the lottery again. Fingers crossed for Matt Dumba.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love Dumba or Ryan Murray. I'm not high on any of the Russians. But the problems go beyond what new young players we can bring in.

What we need are good, solid 26-29 year old veterans. But Charles Wang has made that impossible. "One more lottery pick" has been the montra for several years. Unfortunately, that won't change next year, either. We are not complimenting our young players with veteran skill. We're hording these geezers and pretending that they're still in the prime of their career (not the fans, management).

It's very concerning when a new season starts and management corners their market on a guy who hasn't played a game yet. They did that with Tavares a little bit. Like you, I'd love Dumba, but he's not enough to make this team better next year.

In all reality, with the way this team is constructed, and if the kids don't get too discouraged, we're a good four or five years from our next playoff APPEARANCE. Not a championship, not a series victory, but a PLAYOFF GAME!!! Unless Charles Wang can change things drastically and do something that might actually attract quality free agents. He could do something like, I don't know, let the "hockey people" run the hockey and of things while he repairs some of the problems in the building. That would be a start.

Nothing against you, but there are lots of players I'd rather have over Dumba.

Forsberg
Galchenyuk
Murray
Yakupov
Grigorenko
Trouba

Amazing one 6 game point streak takes us from talking about the playoffs, and than 1 loss and suddenly we are talking lottery again. We have 4 very winnable games coming up. I do agree that our defense is too slow and overall we are far to soft.

We are still lacking a good second line center, a great winger for Tavares, a top pairing defenseman (probably 2 because Streit flat-out sucks this year), and toughness/physicality throughout the lineup.

I still have some confidence in this team though, 1 loss to a top 5 team in the league won't change that. 1 game doesn't make a season, just like 5 games doesn't make a season. If we go into another long losing streak my opinion may change.

Could only imagine a defensive pairing of Larsson and Hamonic for the next 10 years, would have had potential to be one of the best defensive pairings in the entire league.

Well now we need a 6-2 run to finish december at .500. Good luck boys. We will all be going nuts if you make that happen.

Just a little bump in the road. I said from the beginning of this stretch we needed 26 points in 20 games and now were at the halfway point and we need to go 7-3 for the final 10 games. Impossible, no not really, probable, no not really. If we get to 40 points by 40 games then 25-17 to finish off the year will by my hopes for the team. Will that be enough for them to make the playoffs no, but it is a nice 10 point increase from one year to another...

Tell ya right now. This team can compete for a bottom playoff birth. If players like Streit can get out of their own way.

Big win over a big team last night... This team always had the talent to pull off wins like this, but as we all know the effort is so inconsistent. Sometimes it looks like they're in a game 7 and sometimes it looks like they're playing pond hockey. They need someone on that team to constantly push them. As much as I hate the Rags and think Torts is really nothing special he does that with his team. They play for him and they play hard... we need someone like that. I can't say that when Boudreau got canned I wasn't secretly hoping we would ditch Cappy and pick him up to give this team a kick in the pants. I mean it's not working in Anaheim, but I still would've taken the gamble. If all else fails we can just bring up Brent Thompson lol

Just give me a meaningful March that's all I ask for...BTW we won today, make it 12-7...
since you asked for this the team is 4-3-2 in these last 9 games
Include the game before your request (the 2nd of the home and home at NJD) we are 5-3-2 in 10.

They go 8-4-0 in the next 12 we would be
13-7-2 in 22, then just throw out those 2 loss in OT/SO garbage games.
the next 6 games we got
12/20 WPJ WIN
12/22 NYR OTL
12/23 TML WIN
12/26 NYR WIN
12/29 CAF LOSS
12/31 EDO WIN

They need to Win in Winny, they are too hot recently, we need to beat them, they dont have a good goalie, Mason and Pavalec (sp?) are both beatable, the Jets cant keepon scoring like they have been.
We could lose in a SO to the Rags and beat them 5 days later. In between we could beat Toronto who is coming back from a game the previous night in Buffalo.
and then win one of the Edmonton/Calgary games
That is 4-1-1 in 6 games. They could go 4-2-0 also. The first 6 games in 2012 they could also go 4-2 or 4-1-1
Carolina, Anaheim, Phoenix, Detroit, Phila, Buff

Even if they go 4-2-0 then 4-2-0, there is the 8-4 and they are 13-7-2.

But they need to beat Winny and win in OT or regulation with the Leafs. They could......... Maybe?!??!?

OK, no.......Fail for Nail! Fail for Nail!

They need to keep the Jersey connection off the team, and let the kids learn together. Enough of the slow old dudes bogging the team down as they collect their final paychecks as NHL players.

I agree with this. The young kids are a lot more hungrier and also more fun to watch.
