7-1-2 under Hitch... pretty impressive start.

Another win. Good job boys

David Backes has really elevated his play. We really need to get the Selke campaign going. He killed the last 15 seconds by himself virtually.

GREAT WIN!!! They made a LOT of errors, on the road. But still win. That's the mark of a winner!

Elliot probably would have had the shutout if they hadn't given up the breakaway. But yeah Elliot should be the starter.

We in 5th now?

Halak will play against Washington, but Elliott should play 2 out of every 3 games. He must have stopped 6 breakaways tonight. The defence stopped several more odd man rushes.

Great to "steal" a game for a change, instead of having them stolen away.

Wow just realized this but after the game the other night against Calgary the post game show put up that we defeated the Jackets 2-1.

Scary how they knew....

Elliott is playing much better then I could have ever hoped. The Blues winning IMO has more to do with good goaltending lately then coaching. Halak has finally started coming around also we have 2 very good goalies currently.

Nice win. That was one of the more frustrating Blues games to watch, with all the defensive gaffes and weak penalty calls. Glad they got the win.

Agreed. That wasn't a pretty or clean win by any stretch, but it was 2 points on the board at a time when we really need them.

Somebody over at the asylum pointed out that the Blues are 10-0-0 this season when leading after 2 periods. I know that doesn't apply to this particular game, but still, that is a huge change from the past few years when the team was blowing 3rd-period leads on a regular basis.

Good win.

Loved the pressure during the final 30 or so seconds with Backes and Steen not even letting the Jackets past the blueline.

Can't wait to see just how good this team will be when Bergie and Stewie catch fire.

As others have said, maybe Perron is just what they need.

WOW!

And to think, the last two seasons, the Blues were only good for the first 40 minutes a night. What a change for the better! Let's hope it continues to be habitual.

This team has been striking first in most of these games during Hitchcock's tenure-wondering how much of that is coincidence.

We all have to be encouraged by the Blues overcoming a deficit after giving up the first goal. Still quite a few odd man rushes (hope that doesn't become a trend) but the D has been solid and made good decisions on offense. Elliot has been great.

Whoever said Backes has stepped up is completely right. He is doggedly pursuing the puck out there-seems like he's developed an extra gear.

Fun times a brewin'.

Seriously though, how great was that Oshie pass. Those two seem to be really clicking together. Is it normal for teams best offensive line to also be the best defensively? Because with Steen, Oshie, and Backes you could realistically have three Selke candidates.

Good to see the boys get a win when they were not at their best. The amount if odd man rushes going the other way is a little concerning though.

That pass was a beaut, and that line just may be one of the best two-way lines in the league right now. I just wish Backes could learn how to take face-offs and maybe he could have a chance at winning the Selke. 38% tonight though, and 44% overall isn't going to cut it. Hitchcock really needs to make a point of improving our face-offs. Great game, we really needed those two points.

If I had known that The Blues would give up a handful of breakaways and several additional odd-man rushes I wouldn't have guessed The Jackets would be held to one goal. I was right, but for the wrong reason. Elliott "stood on his head", and The Blues' backcheckers worked miracles to interfere with the breakaways and man advantages. Make no mistake.....that kind of laxity won't produce wins if a team has just one line scoring.

I'd keep Steen with Bergland and Stewart, and hope Perron starts playing soon, so the 3 scoring lines can be filled out.
