Eh, I watched a few of his games, and think his size with arm strength could make him a starting NFL qb. That being said, his accuracy is iffy at best that that will/would prohibit him. I'd also look at Cousins though. I think he could be a good backup or spot starter when the starting QB gets hurt.

Pretty solid pick by the birds, glad they made the moves they needed to obtain the higher pick to grab him. Alleviates some of their trouble at the LB position even with Ryans coming here from Houston one guy isn't going to completely solve the turnstyles we had in the middle.

Will be interested to see what else the birds do, one of those drafts where we will most likely be concentrating on the D side of the ball almost entirely IMO.

Are there any safeties to get in the 2nd round?

After Barron and the kid from Notre Dame picked at the end of the first, there seems to be a huge drop off at the safety position.

I think they should consider getting an OLB or CB who can cover the slot.

Now I think their priorities should be (in order):

LB, OT/L, CB, RB, QB, S

They have the picks to draft each of those, it just depends when they pick them. I was wanting Safety first, but realistically they've drafted 3 safeties in the last 2-3 years. They may grab one in the 7th, but I can't see them using a pick today for one.

I'm personally hoping for David (OLB, NEB), Burfict (ILB, AZSt), or Kendricks (ILB,CAL) at LB. Foles (AZ), Cousins (Mich St.), Moore (Boise), or Keenum (HOU) at QB. If Mike Adams is there for our 1st pick in the 2nd, I'd jump on him for a OT (OSU). And of course I'd want Pierce from Temple for our RB

It's pretty much good depth players from here on out. But we do need them. If Vick or Ryans or McCoy go down this year, we're in trouble at those positions.

I'm not sure Burfict is even going to get drafted. He had a poor season, he failed a drug test, and had a bad combine as well.

I agree with your positional needs, but not the players, haha.

LB I'd want Upshaw from Bama or Bobby Wagner from Utah State.

OL I'd want Zebrie Sanders from Florida State or Adams like you said if he is there.

QB I'd be ok with Foles, but not in the second or third round. Osweiler I'd take in the third. No one I'd take in the second in this draft. Lindley from SDSU is solid too or Wilson from Wisconsin. Moore and Keenum no thank you.

If they used the rest of their picks on defensive players, that would be fine with me. But they need another RB imo.

That I did not know! Thanks. Although he fits the bill perfectly for our next "project"

Nice LB pick. Mychal Kendricks fits what the eagles like to do.

Boykin from Georgia at CB intrigues me too. A couple decent CBs left. Still need a RB like Pierce though.

The D line is looking deep:

Cole
Babin
Curry*
Tapp
Graham
Jenkins
Patterson
Cox*

They're trying to replicate the Giants.

We like the pick? I haven't seen much of Marshall, I admit.

I thought they might go for Massie there--just on value.

I graduated with Vinny in December at MU. Kid's got a HUGE motor, and that was playing almost every down at Marshall. Playing in a rotation will keep his motor fresh, he's gonna be a very good player for us. Very down to earth, from Neptune, NJ and he's an Eagles fan. His mom passed away last season, he buried her, came back down and had the game of his life, and uses her passing as motivation.

In his profile on nfl.com it says he may be able to be used as a OLB if so is it possible he was drafted with the intention of making him a LB full time?

Probably not, he's the same size as Babin and Cole. He's got a good size for a DE in our defensive system.

edit: if we ever go into a 3-4, he can probably be an OLB then, he and Graham (if he ever gets healthy).
