no its not final...there are 29 guys on the list and the press release said that these are 29 of the approximately 40 players that will be attending camp. so there are about 10 more names to be added atleast...

several of the players like ortmeyer on a technicality have to sign contracts with the pack today so as a technicality they probably can't be announced till that is made official but hopefully they will all be taken care of in the next few days.

I like this kid D Ryan Glenn. He has potential. He is a 24 year old dman with solid size and decent scoring. I hope we sign him.

Ayers

What's the deal with him? He was the HE player of the year a couple years ago and now he's playing in charlotte. Anyone know why Chicago didn't sign him as a draft pick? Is he just not that good or did something happen? thanks for any help

No offense, but where the hell would he play if we did sign him?

He's struggled a little in the past couple of years, bit inconsistent. I don't expect much from him as a pro, but I think it's worth taking a look at how he'll do in the ECHL...can't be any worse than St Germaine

Glenn is coming off a good senior year at St Lawrence, I thought the Habs would sign him, don't know how he ended up at the rangers camp, as I thought we had a year to sign him after he finished school. He plays a solid all round, nothing great but steady.

Actually they had 180 days to sign him after he completed his college commitments

I was appalled (but not surprised) that Chicago didn't sign him. I had the chance to see him play a few times (specifically at the 03 Frozen Four) and was very impressed. Obviously not a hell of a lot of goalies come out of Hockey East but he looked damn good to me. Not the result of a great systematic defense in front of him like Lenevue may or may not have been for example. I know we haven't signed him but a positive nonetheless.

That Ask guy had some solid ECHL numbers. I wonder if he'll impress. I've honestly never heard of him before this.

He hasn't signed a pro contract yet, but has been invited to the Wolf Pack's camp, perhaps to try out for a contract. Seems likely at this point he'll go back to Tri City where he was selected captain this year.

I should have paid more attention to the ECHL game last year, he was playing...seems like an ECHLer from his stats though

Ask looks good on paper, but the Checkers have already been busy signing a collection of top line players. Look up the stats for Eduard Pershin, Dusty Jamieson, Allan Egeland, and Mike Harder. All those guys have numbers as good as, if not better than, Ask's. (Although Ask's size might make him attractive as the guys I mentioned are on the small/slight side except for Jameison).

I think Charlotte is making a run for the championship this year. They've upgraded their skill level and a tandem of Petruk/Ayers would be a big upgrade for them this year.

As it turns out, Ask is Las Vegas property, so if he doesn't make the pack he goes back to Las Vegas...

With Ask, he's also been better at each level he went to.

Solid CHL numbers (not juniors, but the crappy minor league CHL).
Solid ECHL numbers.
Maybe solid AHL numbers? I don't know. I've never heard of the kid before.

Speaking of the CHL, Brad Lukowich signed a contract to play for "the crappy minor league"
