What's unfortunate about the last game is what highlight do they put on the NHL.com front page? The Purcy falling goal, and not Pyatt.

Milbury and some guy from the Caps almost went at it about Overchicken's ice time... All they did was talk about the SE coaching shakeup. Thankfully. I'm sure Milbury would love to talk about 2 defensive trapping teams going at it and how much of a snooze it's going to be.

I'm actually looking forward to how much of a troll game this will be against the rest of the league.

Brett Connolly's going to be a heck of power forward in a few years.

I'm afraid to say anything because I've seen this movie before. Carry the 5 on 5 play, come up empty, opponent rope-a-dopes until they get a ****** trash goal and then milks it for the win.

good start, Kubina has to get that one in the net... again, its Kubina.

Gilroy and MAB have looked suprisingly good in defense so far

You can't have seen it much this year. We haven't had too much of this extended pressure in the opposition zone this year. We are all over the puck.

Toronto comes to mind this year.

And there's the first soft "stick near my feet, I'mma fall down" penalty.

I'm not sure if Brewer is ill-equipped for this style of play, or he's the one who is supposed to slow it down.

It'll be interesting when Ohlund comes back.

Fair point. Great period though. If our D could shoot we would be a couple up here.

Very solid period, they look like a team that is playing the 2nd half of a back to back. Still they're very good defensively. It's going to take some PP time or some seriously ugly goal to get one through Backstrom.

To all future complaints about lack of physicality.

We're too busy putting the puck in the net to hit.

We've actually been playing pretty damn physical imo. The blue line is not being given lightly and our forecheckers are finishing checks they haven't in the past. Overall it's a byproduct of energy.

Love Milbury doing everything he can to pretend he's not interested in the speed at which this game is being played. The transition is phenomenal. Also love that he's actually giving Ovi all kinds of **** for not being a pro lol.

In other news, Pacioretty given 3 game ban for high hit on Letang.

Maybe now they'll pick up the pace after all this defense business.

It's official that any doubts, no matter how slight, that I had about Stamkos after his slump last year are gone. Huge game from him so far.

EDIT:

I think Bergeron will get an assist on that goal too, great play by him to block Heatley off. Looked like he got a touch

That was an awesome shift. The hit at the blue line and him just kinda shrugging it off then the absolute blazing speed followed by one of the best releases in the game top cheese wicked angle. Wow.
