He's All In now.

But I understand it. He's our GM and VP. Next season's schedule isn't released yet and business goes first.

I can't wait until the Wings lose at home. Then the topics every game will stop.

You worry about that, I worry about this whole Rick Nash situation.

If they trade Nash away I'm going to be crushed. Absolutely crushed.

Sharks and former Lightning D Dan Boyle was in town last week for San Jose's game against his former team, and as usual took his shots at former Tampa Bay owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie.

"What they came in and did speaks for itself," Boyle said. "What did they last, a year and a half? It was going downhill from the day they took over and that's why they're gone."

Boyle has a particular issue with Barrie, who in June 2008 apparently was the driving force in the decision to trade him to the Sharks.

Asked if he took pleasure in Barrie's financial and legal problems, Boyle said, "Isn't he in jail yet? … You get what you deserve I guess is all I can say in a sort of nice roundabout way."

It sucks we traded him and I know he loved it here and I can understand his bitterness......but, man, I miss him on our back end! I'm happy he found peace and success in SJ.

Hard to blame Boyle when we as fans feel the exact same way.

Anyone else getting intense schadenfreude watching the Caps implode and Ovi going all Patrick Roy (without the cups and the Conn Smythes)? There are some really fun conspiracy theories on the Caps board about how the league is the cause of Ovi's downfall and how all Ovi needs is Sid to be a superstar again. I'm loving this.

Just like when the NFL stomped on Albert Haynesworths' career.

If he didn't come across as an egotistical jerk sometimes and pout when things don't go his way, there's no way the league is going to promote that type of player. It's bad enough to have Crosby updates every day as it is. Personally, I don't like the guy and never did.

The ECHL gave the ref a call after the game and said that shouldn't have been a goal.

Caps get worked by Ottawa.

Dont know where else to put this, and dont really want to make a playoff push thread as to not jinx it lol.

Dont look now but if we win tomorrow in Winnipeg its a whole new ball game.

With a W:

Within 1 point of Washington for 10th, with 1 game in hand.
Within 3 points of Winnipeg for 9th, with 3 games in hand.
Within 3 points of Toronto for 8th, with 1 game in hand.*
Within 3 points of Florida for 3rd(heh), with FL having 1 game in hand.*

The last two are dependent on each of those teams losing in regulation tomorrow as well.

Things are getting interesting. Not getting my hopes up until we are within 2 points of a playoff spot, but still fun to think about even with everything going on.

Relevant schedule for tomorrow:

San Jose at Toronto
Anaheim at Carolina
Minnesota at Florida
Tampa Bay at Winnipeg

Everyone hope for regulation wins for the away teams tomorrow!

Minnesota goes back to the past as they trade Marek Zidlicky to NJ for Kurtis Foster, Stephane Veilleux, Nick Palmieri, WAS's 2nd round pick, and a conditional 2013 pick.

Think they might put a claim in on Mittens?

Getting the band back together.

I didn't even know Veilleux was still... around.

BTW, who's getting balder faster? Getzlaf or him?

He spent some time in Finland, and then the AHL with Albany. I figure he'll get a chance with the Wild as that's the only NHL team he's found some success on.

I only remember him because of awful he was yet Tocchet continually tried to play him on the Top 6 next to Vinny.

I'm not quite sure what this should go under, but MvsW had Brian Lawton on as their guest on their Feb 23 episode.

http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/SN/Ma...-Wyshynski.mp3

starts about 38:30 in.

Lawton reveals some interesting stuff from his time as GM.

He seemed to be interested in trading for Travis Moen, but ended up getting re-signed by Montreal before a deal could happen.

He also wanted to trade for Clark MacArthur. TB offered like a 3rd and 6th round pick.

MacArthur went to Atlanta for a 3rd and 4th.

M&W start cracking up when Lawton says not to listen to trainers, because they make stuff up. Several weeks ago, M&W had suggested trainers would tell you everything and were very under utilized for their insight for some reason.

Lawton turned down a significantly better offer for Recchi to go to a team that wasn't as good, just so Recchi could have the best chance at winning the cup. The deal he did, taken by itself, is what Lawton considers his worst.

Jets leading 2-1 going into the 3rd period, now behind 4-2 to the Oilers with about 5 minutes left.

No one wants the 8th seed.
