Helmets do **** all to prevent the types of concussions that get the most notoriety now. Helmets protect your noggin when it impacts or is impacted of course, but the problem is, they don't protect the jaw or face and they certainly don't protect against whiplash type injuries that often result with the face hitting another part of another player's body.
Anyone else scared ****less that Stamkos is one Mike Green away from Crosbyville?
To stop diving, how about when an opposing player puts their stick on you, you are allowed to rip the stick out of their hands?
How about dead puck era rules apply when attempting to fight through a check?

Nobody cares about injures that aren't concussions.
Anyone else remember the days when you used to hear: "concussion-like symptoms"?

SFY is in favor of bringing the redline ****ing back.

“I don’t like the way the game is played anymore,” the Lightning general manager said Saturday. “All the rule changes we made we designed to increase the skill level, but it’s become a slap shot from the far blue line and a guy chips it in and you go chase.”
Speaking of refs: Is it just me or has the number of refs interfering with the play in terms of inadvertently standing in the way of players and/or the puck etc. increased significantly this season? Every second night there's at least one odd deflection off a ref or the like.
Watched part of the Pens/Rangers game tonight and the announcer said before going to break...."We'll be right back with Sidney Crosby versus the New York Rangers...."

How freakin' sad is that????
I'm glad he's back and he's the best player in the league, and that's great for the NHL, but I hate when people try to make him bigger than the game.

I wanted to watch NHL Network to see coverage of the Lightning-Leafs when I got home from the game last night. All I heard and saw was Sidney Crosby. I think I'll cancel the Crosby Network.
I am kind of glad Stamkos got to 50 against Boston. If he had done it last night no one would even know.
I can see the headlines now
Crosby gets assist in return
Crosby's 6 shots on goal help Pens win 5-2
Watch all of Crosby's shifts now
The guy who tied Crosby for the Richard in 2010 gets 50
Crosby playing in Pitsburgh helps end Brys' shutout streak in NY

LOL!!! so-so-so-so-true! The sports media's fixation on certain players is so downright pathetic it's laughable. If it isn't Crosby, it's Manning. Sad part is, the other skilled players on their teams get crap for what should be well deserved recognition.
Random fact about Adam Hall: He just had a son born named Evan John.
Now, being someone named Evan IRL, I can't help but notice the middle name.
Quote:
Evan is considered to be Welsh and is, like Ieunan, a form of John and means "God is gracious". Evan and Even are used also in Britanny where they are linked to John the Baptist. These forms overlap in Ireland and Scotland with forms of Eoghan, which are sometimes Ewan, Euan and Ewen. The Irish Evin does not seem to be related historically, since it means "swift", but is is usual now to equate the names.
