Why not just shuffle some teams in the current 6 division format? Columbus East, Winnipeg West, or some **** like that? I don't see the necessity for this 4 conference format, especially since each conference isn't equal (which gives teams in the smaller conferences an advantage to get in the playoffs.
If you want to go to the 4 conference alignment when you add two new teams, that's fine, but until then it doesn't make sense.
I agree 100%. What a stupid plan
Let's put the 2 Florida teams in a division with a bunch of Northeast and Canadian teams. Brilliant.
That Drouin highlight is the sickest case of dangles I think I've ever seen. Toss in a Datsyukian Reverse Hit for good measure as well. He broke at least 4 ankles and served up the puck on a golden platter for his teammate.
I don't quite get why so many schools overreact to students making these videos. A logic I could see, but not agree with, is that these students are taking their school's identity and using it in their videos.
But then there's a conflicting idea with wanting them to show school spirit. By it's very nature, you have to give the students a level of agency in how they do that. They can't micromanage everything the way they'd like. It's outdated thinking with the technology these days.
What if the PA puts the brakes on the league realigning and were just hard ***** throughout the entire process?
I get the logic that everybody needs to be friends now, but there's very few people that don't think that the league will lockout the players again when this CBA is finished.
Also, Gagne to Flyers.

Cole for Ryder and a 3rd. What is Nieuwendyk smoking?
Cole is a good player, not this year too much as he may have already checked out after seeing the CBA, but if he returns to form, then it can be an okay trade.

Ryder is two years younger, produces at the same rate (much better this year actually) and is potential trade bait at the deadline. Especially with the salary cap going down you'd think there should've been better options than trading him and a 3rd for 34 year old Mr. CBA.

Gagne could have gone for more too. Just a conditional 4th round pick?
Seems like either there's an abnormally high or low amount of interest in trades. Or normal.
One of the three.

The 4th will turn into a 3rd if Philly makes the playoffs. I get why Gagne's value isn't too high with his concussion history and all the other injuries. He's a depth player.
But Ryder alone should fetch more than Cole, IMO. But instead Nieuwendyk puts a 3rd on top. The funny thing is on the Habs board a lot of people don't like the trade. Ryder still is an UFA at the end of the season so what did they lose? An older and worse player who is contemplating retirement and has a whooping 6 points on the season?
Oh Leafs, even when your on ice product isn't awful, you can still make me laugh.
We don't have a set goal song yet. This is our third goal song this season alone. I like it only because it's meant to annoy the other team when you score.
Good news for our playoff hopes, we need to start playing better starting NOW. It comes down to us and Winnipeg and we should really be above them when it's all said and done.
I see it coming: places 11-15 in the East are going to be SouthEast teams, with Tampa at 11 so they can play in the playoffs and still pick at a great position
