Yeah, after seeing it in slow-mo the league made the right call. He didn't leave his feet which was a good thing.

I rushed home as soon as I heard. How are Crosby's teeth?

I think he will be okay, isn't the first hockey player to lose some theeth.
After such accidents I always think the same, why do the players don't secure their face better, using a grid (what is the right word?) can't be that bad. The goalies don't have problems with them, so why should the players have?

but he's Crosby. Pucks should be banned from the game.

but cages get the same reasons that visors get resistance. Part of it is the idea of 'toughness' and the other part is that visors or cages have the potential to obstruct your vision.

Sorry, but they are just dumb, if they play without a visor and I think the players would start using cages if one important guy would do it first.
The goalies use cages and have NO vision problems , so I can't belief players would have them. And some junior players use some sort of "bog" or "long" visors, so why not those. If you get a puck on the wrong places of your face, it can cost your life, so in my opinion not usig cages is just dumb.

The way a goalie's cage is made maximizes their FOV. They could easily get a stick in there.

and the problem with full face visors is that your breath fogs it up. Some players also say that the curvature distorts their peripheral vision.

Wow.

Remember Baby Geniuses? The three bros that played Sylvester and Whit committed to Bemidji State.

They played 'Kahuna' in the sequel.

He's the blond kid on the right in the screenshot.

Scouting just got real.

Done before I finish typing this

Edit: Apparently Regehr deal was for the 2014 and 2015 2nd round picks from LA. Not even this years picks. Darcy Regehr giving his successor some extra picks
