Toffoli named to Canada WJC camp roster

He's the lone King named to the roster:

I'd assume he'll make it, as Canada is looking to only have three veterans return from last years team. I haven't seen the other countries rosters yet, so not sure if any other Kings have been invited to other camps.

If they are looking to replace lost offense, you'd think Toffoli and Etem make the team with even so-so camps.

Etem is actually a U.S. guy and was born in Long Beach and was a product of the US under-18 program so hes probably a sure thing for the Americans and I'm thinking Forbort will be as well.

Kitsyn I think is still eligible for Russia and if so should make the team for sure.

Thing is that Canada roster looks pretty stacked even if it's only three veterans that make the team... There's only six 2012 invitees in the whole camp so while they are lacking in experience they appear to make up some of that in sheer age.

Even with 3 vets that's still a stacked roster, good for Tyler though. Are the U.S selections out?

Not yet that I've seen. Last update I read was Blais being named as the coach. The Kings also had four guys invited to the 40 man development camp roster in Mersch, Shore, Gravel, and Forbort back in June so that's a good thing. I'd call Forbort the only real lock though. Shore I'd say could be a maybe, and Mersch is probably a longshot. Gravel could make it as a shutdown guy if he had/has a decent camp.

Just realized I totally spaced Gibson making the Fins roster and Schumacher on Sweden as well. So all in all the Kings could have up to 7 guys in the WJC this year... I doubt they all make it but probably have 4 guys that should be considered pretty close to sure things in Schumacher, Toffoli, Gibson, and Forbort.

This can't be right. The Kings don't ever draft any talented wingers.

Yes we do, they just don't make the NHL very often

So are you trying to creep the guy out so he never wants to play here or what?
