Probably yes to all. Unfortunately none of the opposing teams would do it.

Except for the Pominville one... not too high on him, but buffalo wouldn't do it anyway.

no way the bruins trade lucic
no way the buffalo trades pominville, their captain, just signed
no way trades havlat for bailey - san jose is in "win now" mode, aren't interested in assets for futures (sounds foreign, but that's how some teams operate)

and semin, the new flavour of the minute, well, if we're going to get semin, we may as well get yashin back as well. WAS also plans on winning now, so they'll want some players in return, players the NYI don't have. Maybe Streit, Moulson and a draft pick for Semin would work, but that makes little sense for the Isles.

martin - tavares - semin
grabner - yashin - nino
ullstrom - bailey - okposo
gillies/haley/rolston - nielsen - parenteau

and we'll still have no defense to add to our gutless new additions upfront.

i don't think this is the way to go.

If I'm the Isles there is no way I'm giving up Bailey and a first for Havlat and a second. Seriously think about that for a few minutes. You'd give up a lottery pick AND Bailey for Havlat? wow. Talk about overpayment.

There is no way boston would go for that.

I would do all of those moves.

Doesn't mean that any of those opposing teams would accept. Most likely all of them wouldn't accept.

I think we are overpaying for each and every player on that list.

Overpayments for all the deals, which might be needed.

Semin I seriously, seriously think can be had for just a 2nd, Washington wants him gone ASAP. Semin I believe would not do well on the Island, he would not care enough to want to give it his all for us. He is better off in Russia.

No way would I trade down from our first for Semin.

He is a UFA at year end, and we are unlikely to make the playoffs even with him. Getting a potential early first round pick is nice, but I wouldn't want to miss the chance for an elite player just to try and salvage a season that may be beyond saving.

I would have no problem giving up lesser assets (Bailey, later picks, prospects not named Nino/Strome/De Haan) for him, but you can't move that first unless you are getting back long term help.

Also, no way would I move that much for Havlat. He hasn't scored 30 goals since the lockout. He is having a terrible year for SJ. Bailey and a first? No way.

I would imagine Washington will wait and see how he performs for the new coach before dumping him so cheaply.

Yes to all except Semin. I don't think he would do well here nor do I think he would stay here. Even with Semin I could still see us finishing bottom 5 this season. I would like to get an established player in here and am willing to deal a pick(s), but here I'd rather have my shot at Yakupov in the lottery then a chance at re-signing Semin.

I can't see Boston parting with Lucic but he'd be my #1 on that list. He is the exact type of player this team needs up front. He's a big tough kid with a nasty streak who seems to be on his way to being a 30 goal scorer. He would sure open up some ice out there with JT.

The only one of those I'd do is Lucic, but Bos won't trade him for picks, so it's moot.

Don't want Semin at any price (esp. 1st rounders!) and I still believe in Bailey.

Assuming the deals would be approved as they are by the trade partners...

Yes to Bruins deal.

Yes to Sabres - Pominville is solid, but I am not sure we need a right wing that badly especially when we are trying to get Nino in the game.

No to Sharks deal — we would be giving up too much for Havlat

No to Caps deal. Not giving up 2 first rounders for Semin. We dont have a good record with Russian's either.

Assuming we were to make these deals...sending Bailey to Buffalo along with our 2012 second rounder, and our 2012 3rd rounder and 2013 first rounder for Lucic, I would then waive Rolston and Pandolfo.

BUT — this would still leave us with too many forwards and we need a center to be the #2 behind JT.
