Apparently Palhares is seeing a shrink to see if they can temper some of his nuttiness a little. Interesting that his manager is being quite open about it.
"It's a mixture of things," Davis recently told MMAjunkie.com Radio (www.mmajunkie.com/radio). "There are a lot of variables. Yes, Rousimar is a very simple person. He comes from a very simple background. He comes from a background that somebody here in the United States would have a very, very hard time understanding.
"But he does tend to go on automatic a lot, and that's something we are trying to straighten out."
4. Request by mixed martial artist Alistair Overeem for a license, for possible action. (Record 35-11).
9. Selection of officials, and setting of fees, to work December 30, 2011 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena for the
UFC special event bout between Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem, for possible action.
I was listening to Sherdog radio and it was mentioned that Overeem might have left the US to avoid a "Out of competition drug test". I know he left the country to train in Holland again b/c his Mother is seriously ill again, so I really believe he left the US to avoid a drug test.

Looks like Frank Mir has been asked to "be prepared" to step in for Alistair Overeem against Lesnar if NSAC says no license. #MMA #UFC

NSAC says that almost every single one of the random tests has been completed within 48 hours. Says "one will be discussed later today."

Their wording indicates that Overeem did not take his test. But they have overtly stated that yet.
Lesnar and Overeem were contacted to have tests done. Lesnar went to a hospital to do it. Overeem "we'll deal with later" the commission says. Lesnar was clean.

NSAC says they asked Overeem and Lesnar to take drug tests. Lesnar did it and it was fine. They didn't hear from AO for 4 days

NSAC says they made request to test Overeem on 11/17, but he left for Holland on 11/17.

Alistair Overeem did the right test on 12/7. They hope to have the results "later this week."
Nothing will come of this. He picked the right time to cycle on and off and that's that. Pretty straight forward. The UFC could remove him if they wanted, but I doubt that.

Yeah, but the NSAC could remove him from that card.
He left the country when he was supposed to take it (11/17) and didn't submit it until 12/7. That's why their pissed right now.
I'm pretty sure the only reason why he left is b/c he had to flush his system b/c if he would have taken a urinalysis on that day he knew he wouldn't pass it. Alistair sounds guilty as hell right now. He's stumbling all over the place.
