Not for me. The calender is still grayed out on the dates after the regular season.
Since it seems they are not able to have this simple misfunction fixed, I am forced to stay awake through the night and watch the games live after barely having any sleep over the last 48 hours.

Ok, since I have been getting a mass of PM's asking how to do this, I'll just put it here. I DON'T see this as being dirty/pirating/unethical as we ALL paid for this service and for those of us that can't even get the channels, even if we wanted to...have no recourse other than masking our IP so we can watch the games we paid to watch.
Then set up the connection from there. They give a connection file that you can download and it makes the setup extremely simple.
Remember, it will be a slow connection and will render Gamecenter virtually useless. You are just using this to gain access to your GC account. Once the game loads, disconnect your VPN connection and in a minute or two your connection speed will take over and the feed will become clear.
Props on this. As a Pens fan, I already missed a huge chunk of games during the regular season because of their popularity. I cannot <3 you enough. I can even watch the Sharks now.

The tough life of a playoff hockey warrior.
Er, fan.

I just realized that they have fixed the super-annoying thing on GCL: that the games strip would reveal whether a game had gone to an OT (or SO) even when the Scores display was off. I'm pretty sure it was still showing it week ago or so.
Took them all season to get it done but I'm glad I can use the service spoiler-free now if I like.

Yeah, that was annoying. Apparently Viaplay was informed about this (read it on their facebook page) and they forwarded it to NHL gamecenter to have it fixed.
One thing I still would like to see get fixed is the freaking timeline on the flash player. Just get rid of it or at least give us an option to make it disappear since it indicates the length of the game you're watching (that is a huge issue especially during the playoffs). Just a better fast forward button with which you could skip the intermissions and commercial brakes would do the trick, or cut out those brakes altogether. They should integrate a 1 minute fast forward button like they had on ESPN 360 player last season.

Reason: typo

Just a heads up on this: since they have removed the OT/SO markings, now the games strip reveals the winner of games. I have informed Viaplay on it and asked them to fix it.
For those who have not noticed it yet but want to know about it, I'll put it under spoiler tags just in case:
Spoil:
When you mouse click on the game you're going to watch and the panel becomes highlighted in blue, the loser of that game is written in bold and the winner is grayed out.

I think that was there before already. At least I've learned to close my eyes when clicking or asking my girlfriend to do it for me.

Oh, nevermind then. When I watch games on-demand, I usually watch them late enough when the schedule has been updated to show the upcoming live games on that particular day. So when I scroll back to the day before on the calender, there is no such issue I described in my previous post.
Still an annoying feature though and I wish it will be fixed to save all the hassle we have to go through.

For what it's worth, this doesn't happen to me. The bug has been present at times earlier in the season but right now there's nothing there that would indicate the winner of a game.
At some times it has been the loser in color blue and other times it's been the bolding, but right now there's nothing.
edit: Oh, I just read your second post. They've probably overlooked that specific instance. I guess the bottom line here is GCL's QA is pretty terrible all around.
Headed to the in-laws for a visit and after some subtle scouting I've found they have Uverse as their carrier. I'm unfamiliar with it so anyone know if I might run into trouble finding NBCS or NHLN? Would that be determined by region or channel package level?

Uverse does not carry the nhl network, they dropped the channel oct 1, just before the hockey season began. Uverse does carry the nbc sports network and cnbc on their basic u-200 package. So as long as the game is not on the nhl network, you will be all set.

Think I'll only need NHLN for support coverage should an earlier game go OT and I can live with that.
Curious about the one-off playoff package that's on offer now [and any experience of using it, particularly on apps.]
Not used GCL before, but have tried the fairly low quality free iDevice app that's available. First query about this is that even though the newer playoff upgrade option is shown in the app store's in-app purchases, if I try to upgrade to GCL in the app itself the option is blocked with the message "GCL is no longer available in the United States and Canada. Blackout & other restrictions apply".
Should I take that to mean that this wouldn't work regardless of the fact that I'm nowhere near North America?
After reading that went to check if it was possible to register for the playoff package on the main site, then noticed print underneath the form stating that it will auto-renew "your subscription" before the new season. As far as I remember from a brief look at it at the start of the regular season it's the same form they had there to begin with. Safe to guess they view this playoff package as standalone and just haven't updated the form, or do they treat this supposed single payment as a subscription and renew at some one-off full season cost?
ive had gcl for two years, and im pretty frustrated about the playoffs and national games. i just spent 18 bucks on a month of hockey streams just to see what its like. the interface is a little awkward, but once i figured it out i was pretty impressed. the quality of the stream was just as good as gcl, all games available, pretty easy to use dvr, supposedly ways to watch on the xbox and on the iphone/ipad. they show the world championships, and things like draft day coverage.
its only one night in, but i dont know. i might be a convert. paying 160 or whatever i paid to miss so many games, and have to cheat just to watch the playoffs - which is the point of getting it in a way. these guys are 100 bucks for an actual year. it'll have to implode for me not to be impressed.
As long as you are aware that it is not strictly speaking a licensed service you'd be supporting with that money, but essentially you'd be paying for a pirate stream. Also, the service has always had buffering issues when I've tried them, and that has really been on several occasions over the years, but if it works for you it might be a good enough alternative. I haven't given them a try within the past 2 years or so though, so they might've improved since.
One thing that gets me every time though is how Hockey Streams' front page still has that same old comparison table which basically doesn't have even one fact straight about their sole 'competitor', GameCenter Live. I really really don't think HS should need to lie about technical facts because I think their streaming format and all that jazz is all pretty good and quite comparable to GCL's (in fact, some ways even better; they know 60 FPS to 30 FPS conversion in sports should be done by blending). I, personally, decided to not give them another chance ever since they deleted (without a reason and within minutes after posting) my perfectly polite post suggesting the info box is slightly outdated on their main page, and after I received no answer when I mailed the staff about it. There's just something about their attitude.
fair enough. my streams last night were as pretty a picture ive seen for a streamed game. very comparable to gcl. its a clunky interface, it aint perfect. if the quality is this good im gonna like it. i had minor buffering issues at times, but i have them with gcl as well.
My Ps3 GCL app has not been updated with the conference semi finals yet, which means i cant watch the preds@yotes game.. Anyone else having this problem? They updated the quarters just fine.
Edit: When I logged on to my US ps3 account it was updated. Then i switched back to my european account and it was updated there too all of a sudden. Weird.

So by October I'll be moving to Kitchener and my fiance and I will most likely end up with Rogers digital cable. I've had Center Ice with BellTV for over 5 years with no problems whatsoever and so I'm a little worried about having to switch over from that problem free BellTV Center Ice experience to Center Ice with Rogers.
Any of you who have Center Ice through Rogers have any trouble? Is it worth getting CI with them? If I go ahead with ordering CI through Rogers are there any issues I should be aware of. I don't feel like sifting through 30+ pages here so lemme know.
