Pacioretty suspended three games.

Sounds about what I expected. Thought it was a bad hit when I saw it. Posted on TSN.

I thought he would only get 1 or 2, oh well, I'm wrong. Probably a bit extra to send a message.

But no police investigation? That was assault and battery I believe.

sounds right to me. Paille got more but it was a very similar hit.

Shanahan's video covers all angles and asks the right questions explaining their deliberation. I don't see how anyone can question the suspension. Well done Shanny.

3 is reasonable. No elbow, but it could have been avoided...fairly easily.

If he had caught more than his nose, it probably would have been more.

They both got a little lucky there.

After last year, it makes you wonder how many children were kept home from school today up in Montreal. Poor kids. Surely the city of Montreal must have counseling available to the public. Who obviously must be in a state of shock after watching one of their own commit hockey horror. Especially one on a premeditated level that far exceeds the little shove that sent Pacioretty flying in a poorly engineered rink.

Air Canada will drop the NHL for sure now. Seeing how this violent epidemic has now spread to the habs roster.

When will it stop? I know I'm not alone in my feelings on this. Because when I called 911 up in Montreal to report this horrible crime, and to get a BOLO out on Pacioretty before he could get out of his gear, and in disguise. The line was busy.

Good. I'm fine with that. I thought it was on par with the Paille hit.

I wonder if Ric Peterson is happy.

Will he be tweeting while he's on "vacation".
Of all people to deliver a hit like that after what happened to him last year. What a moron!
Did anyone call 911?

Love see the whining from Habs fans, always entertaining. Of course there is a conspiracy against their team...the NHL has a bias towards the B's etc...

Classic Habs aggression, bordering a criminal offense.

And it's hands across the Habs board to defend the squeaky clean victim of Chara's attempted murder. Dial neuf-wah-wah indeed.

I suppose it would be difficult to take an unbiased stance when perched that high up on the moral high ground.

They're really like the Zeus of hockey. Teeny, tiny, arrogant, rude little homerific smurf like Zeus'. What a treat they are to read and listen to. What a crock.

Yeah, I hate Letang too

I know what you meant. Didn't like 4 for Paille, 2 or 3 I would have preferred and this is right on that level.

Shanny's been doing an excellent job. I know it's easy for us to say this since Lucic didn't get suspended, Rome was done for the year (that was Shanny right?), etc. But his explanations in video are exactly what the players need to understand what is acceptable and unacceptable. He's doing a great service to the game and I don't think that it should be underappreciated.

Well done Shanny, keep up the good work!
^^(Not about suspending Max, but what I mentioned above)

Funniest part is all the whining about consistency that's been going on of late, and then those same people using completely different situations and events as comparables.

"Well Lucic checked Miller why does Pacioretty get 3 games for a blindside hit to the head?! Where's the consistency?!" And it's not just Habs fans, that's just one example.

How about "where's the consistency with the thought process with the fans?" The man makes videos for you and is incredibly transparent with his reasoning. It doesn't get any more clear when you look at it rationally. Personally I like that Shanahan doesn't cave to public pressure and makes the right call. This was a textbook blidnside hit to the head, eerily similar to the Matt Cooke on Marc Savard hit that helped speed this entire rule change up. They're lucky Letang didn't suffer a concussion (and had he been smart he may have insinuated he had a massive headache) or the punishment could have been conceivably much worse.

It already is.

There's more posts a/b Lucic and Chara than there are a/b Max "I'm just an angel when not running players into the glass from behind" Pacioretty.

*Just a reminder to the board -- All contributions to Brendan Shanahan and Operation: "Infuriate and humiliate all habs fans at all costs, so Lucic and Chara can run over the rest of the NHL" must be sent before the next B's game on Wednesday. And of course, collected annually so we can buy another Stanley Cup.

Nothing wrong with the suspension IMO. I figured 2, but 3 is fine.

I lol'd so hard.

I want to play:

Max "Never shoves players out of the way during OT winner celebrations" Pacioretty...

I'll get back to my homework.

Check out the video. Little **** took the time to admire his handiwork when Letang crumbled to the ice.

When all is said and done, history is going to remember Pacioretty as being a dirtier, sneakier player than Milan Lucic.
