First picture I thought of when I saw the suspension and then the thread on the Habs board...

Judging by the reaction of Habs' fans, Letang should be the one being suspended for getting his head in the way of the elbow of a precious Hab. Also love the way they are still whining over the Chara hit and bringing the Lucic hit on Miller into the mix. What a bunch of whining, delusional tools. Montreal needs to go through an Age of Reason.

That thread is awesome. We should sticky it on our board.
They should look on the bright side. This just gives them more ABSOLUTE NONSENSE to talk about when they find their team in 12th place, and the Bruins enjoying success. All of this talk about suspensions and Campbell, and Shanahan is an embarrassing joke for those that are consumed with it.

Hab and Canuck fans have turned disciplinary action into the most important aspect of a hockey team's success or failure...which is nothing short of PATHETIC. The Bruins, Habs and Canucks fortunes of 2011 would not be any different if Chara was suspended and Rome wasn't. The Bruins fortunes of 2010 would not be any different if Matt Cooke was suspended. And the Bruins, Sabres and Hab fortunes of 2011-2012 would not be any different if Lucic was suspended and Pacioretty wasn't.

This stuff is interesting, but to make it the focal point of your assessment of your team and it's place in the league is a joke.

I think my favorite part about the conspiracy theories about the NHL being out to get the Habs and being in the Bruins' pockets is thinking about how many frigging years we heard as Bruins fans that the Habs owned us. Just pure owning. The Bruins were barely a blip on their radar, as fans they couldn't be bothered with such a lowly team.

Now, the Bruins are enjoying some success, and CLEARLY the NHL has an axe to grind with one of its most storied and successful franchises. Jacobs is Bettman's boss! Colin Campbell is Gregory's father! Shanahan is just a puppet! It has nothing to do with the fact that -- GASP -- the Bruins may have assembled a better team.

So, what are the odds the Montreal police launch an investigation on Brendan Shanahan?

Even more bizarre, when your entire team buys into diving all over the place, like other teams buy into a defensive system. With the refs calling this garbage in their favor the majority of the time, how can you believe in a conspiracy to sink you through suspensions (or non-suspensions)? Seriously, any ref at this point who doesn't recognize PK Subban took a dive by the mere fact he's horizontal; needs to be fired, or loosen his chinstrap. But to their fans it's considered an art form.

It's like people believing in government conspiracies to kill or cover up JFK's assassination. While his own brother was Attorney General. Was he in on it, too?

"Errrr-aaaaah, Yeh-yis Mistah Hoovah, Jack is going to pay for all those wedgies while growing up in Hyannis Port...aaand pay dearly..."

What I don't get is what the Bruins have to do with this. Letang plays for the Penguins. Obsessed much?

It's a complex. It's almost expected when two teams/fanbases hate each other as much as Boston/Montreal fans do, I just wish they'd own it. Makes it so much easier.

I lived in MTL for 15 years, never got a good vibe from it. Lots of good restaurants and bars...but for me that is all it had. The people aren't the best either, but that can be said about most metropolitain cities.
I prefer living here in the states, specifically Duluth, MN. That place is a great mix of city life and ample green space.

I miss Duluth.....

Back to topic...I think that the suspension handed out was perfect.

Shoulder to head. No sudden movements before the hit. Just simple shoulder -> head.

Anyone not complaining about "the universe hates my team" can certainly see this.

Another good call Shanny
