Semin is on pace to score 18 goals this season. He makes $6.7 million.

He will not be the centerpiece of a great blockbuster. He will be sold for another salary dump or swapped for another underachiever.

More likely though, he'll get hurt soon.

Semin's not the core problem. Not trading Marcus Johansson for David Backes is the core problem.

That would solve, well, literally everything.

No no no, that's not the final move. You must then add Bobby Ryan for Kuznetzov & his Russian girlfriend. Then all will be right.

Fun fact: John Lennon wrote 'Imagine' as an allegory of a Johansson for Backes trade.

If you can call it writing..."imagine there's no country, no religion too." Yeah right, Johnny. Here take another puff.

Haha, as if the credibility could get any lower, he attacks John freaking Lennon for songwriting.

Update on the SJS front. SJS is interested in Semin. Caps interested in Marleau. Seeing if they can work out a package.

I'm fairly certain that you're just making **** up, but I guess Semin/Mjo for Marleau is decent value and works capwise and teamwise. Picking up Marleau solidifies the center position and would make mjo "expendable".

Agreed that the only way I see it working is if mojo is part of it. Then I could see perhaps picks added.

But taking that salary means the end of green or wides I think. Orlov's development makes it easier.

It's not set in stone. From an insider on a Redskins message board who is very accurate with signings and trades before they happen with the Redskins. He posted some things about the caps and what DH talked to the guys in the locker room about before, during and after the game. Also said about SJS rumor and also interest from WPJ. He just posted a few mins ago that we wanted Marleau. They want Semin. Not that it's a swap. But trying to see if they can make something work. Nothing final or close even. Just what the interest was.

I'm most certainly not "just making **** up". I never said anything was final or even remotely close to being done. I was simply stating the interests that both teams have.

It wont happen then. McPhee always says we are interested. Teams are interested in Ovi, won't happen though

Who would Marleau center if Mojo and Semin are gone?

Would make sense then that he said Greens name was being thrown around as well. I guess get something for him while you can.

An excellent point. Which only further proves that this is not a good basis for a trade.

Green and Sarge to Calgary and Igilna and Hannan to DC...

edit: When I said "working" above I meant from a SJS side.
