To quote thepuckmonster from the other thread

To VAN:

LW Bobby Ryan
D Sheldon Brookbank
2013 3rd rounder (that we wanted back)

To ANA:

C Ryan Kesler
2012 4th rounder

Does that sound fair? Am I far off?

I take this deal from Anaheim's perspective no doubt.

Same post as my very last one in last thread.

Grabovski will leave as UFA and want big $$$ (We saw how insane FA market was last summer)

Kulemin will be looking for raise and KHL is always risk + He hasn't played as good as he did last year

MacArthur is not playing as good as last year and is a risk that last year was 1 yr wonder

Gunnarsson is above average defender at this time with upside as 2nd pairing guy

2nd = pick between 40-50 likely

See no reason for Ducks to take that offer honestly

TBH I think your low balling every single player I put in that offer.

Yes Grabo does have the chance of leaving but he seems like the kind of guy that wouldn't be like that. How about a signed Grabovski instead?

Kulemin won't be leaving for the KHL and honestly I can't believe you said that. Theres been no thought of that happening at all. Possiblity yes, but likely no. Plus his raise won't be too big. Also hes snake bitten and has been getting the chances.

MacArthur is a better goal scorer than last year and has not really dropped off at all. Hes playing with a playmaker which does benfit his scoring though.

IMO, Gunnarson is a very solid player and is better than a 5th dman and I think alot of people woud agree. Nothing to add here.

Maybe instead the offer should be:

Grabo
2 of: Mac/Kulemin/Gunnarson
1st round pick (If Grabo is traded as an UFA at the end of the year)
Condition 2nd (If Grabo doesn't resign/ he isn't signed before traded)

For:

Bobby Ryan
+whatever elses is needed (Cap dump/ contracts)

I guess you did make me change my offer.

Aulie
Franson
Kadri
3rd

Probably the most I'd be willing to pay. If they want to shore up their back-end, Franson is a solid offensive player who can help now, Aulie could probably step in as well, or maybe next year and bring a defensive presence, Kadri is obviously a high-upside forward, one of the higher rated prospects in the league right now, and a pick. I don't think it'll get much better than that unless the Ducks want a bigger contributor back with a higher salary, then maybe you replace one of those players with Grabovski and the dollars should roughly match.

I might take out the 4th rounder, but aside from that, I don't really see a discrepancy.

That third rounder has a lot of value to us, we want to use it for offer sheets. I'll probably get flamed but then again a lot of Vancouver fans overvalue our players. Ryan is what we need for the Sedins.

Kulemin won't be going to the KHL, it's really annoying that everyone will use the fact that a player is Russian, they are not worth as much because they are a risk to leave. Not all players are like Radulov and Hudler and Hudler came back and Radulov probably will too. The KHL isn't as intriguing as people make it out to be.

for the ducks fan posting on the last page.....macarthur one year wonder ? 9 goals in 18 games is not playing as good as last year ? he has 11 points in 18games, ryan has 11 in 23 games..try to watch more hockey dude,ah i forgot we just spanked your ass sunday and that guy macarthur had a snipe on hiller..and gunnarson with 2nd pairing upside? he`s probably our best def this season, and playing on 1st line with dion..as for kulemin that guy is not a threat to go in russia back..i love Ryan and want him but i hope kulemin is not part of the deal..grabovski kadri 1st and franson or gunnarson for ryan and a salary dump is my bet..maybe we add a goailie like rynnas is the deal but that`s it..

As a Canucks fan I am not interested. Kesler is a better player (right now, which is what matters to this team) than Ryan and Sheldon Brookbank and a third-for-fourth swap is simply not very interesting.

I wouldnt from Vancouver. Sideways deal. Actually, probably a step back. This team needs Kesler to win a cup.

For starters, we can remove the 4th that's really not huge. Second, is there something between the value of Sbisa and Brookbank that is at all interesting to make it work?

It would have to be a 2013 2nd rounder since we don't have ours. But I could see something like that happening.

I could see the Rangers dangling one of their young defensemen + Dubinsky.

Something like
Dubinsky
Erixon
Christian Thomas/Jesper Fasth (Both very speedy, scoring wingers)

yes 2013 since 2012 was traded to Toronto, forgot to mention it but I doubt it makes a big difference for them
