Ah, that makes sense. I'm a little surprised considering who they have on the back end though (that and the Leafs are usually the worst =P).
They definitely are..but this year those stats are a bit skewed. We gave up a lot of PP goals in mainly 3 games. Ottawa game, where they almost came back from 5-1, Boston blowouts.
After that, Leafs PK has been great and working up from like 70% to ~76.9. Not as good but not so bad in overall numbers, but past 12 games are like 85%.
I can't understand how a team like the Hawks have a bad PK.

The Hawks were able to get LW Rostislav Olesz and his $3.125-million salary off the books by sending him to the AHL. GM Stan Bowman will spend by dealing for a blueliner. The Hawks now have more than $4 million in cap space.
No ones talking about who would be traded from Chicago. I am more interested in that, but have no idea who's potentially available. Interesting rumour, enlighten me please!

i'd guess probably a pick or a prospect ...
a dman like Kuba, Komisarek, etc could come cheap .... they both have improved drastically this season ....
i could see the Hawks tossing a mid-pick/prospect for either of them

Bickell, Lepisto, and Stalberg are the most likely roster players to be traded. Pirri, Connely, Stanton, Lalonde, and Rensfeldt are probably the most likely prospects to be dealt. And I would assume all of our picks would be available as well.
Suter makes sense somewhat...I can't see Chicago giving up a lot of assets for a rental, but at the same time Suter makes them the easy cup favorite. Don't think they'd be able to fit him into the long term core plans without moving Hjalmarsson or Sharp/Hossa
If it's a marquee d-man, who I assume they would try to re-sign, I would have to imagine Hammer would be going back in order to make the long term cap work.
At the moment we have 5.5m in cap space, but obviously we will be able to add a higher salary player at the deadline if it is a rental.

Why would the Preds trade with a division rival? If they are shipping out suter or Weber, I'm sure they'd look to deal with an Eastern conf team
The hawks have just under 7mil in cap space, not 4.
Not even sure what Dman they would be looking at, certainly wouldn't be anything higher than 5mil I wouldn't think. I would say they are looking for a guy for 3mil or less.
he'd cost much more than 4 million ... i'd say at least 6 ... unless they just want to use him as a rental ?
Next year yes. This year he is under 4M. If I was you I would at least try to read OP. Why would you want to just rent Suter? Scotty B knows what he is doing.
