Schultz a healthy scratch - I like Hunter as a coach already!
Good first post. But I am half expecting JoeB to casually announce in the middle of the game, that Sarge is nursing an undisclosed injury, just to keep us wondering.
I hope Dale loves him some Erskine because our defense hell entire team lacks what he brings, someone that is no fun to play against, and plays with full effort. Dale trademarks. Something Sarge could stand to work on, full effort, to bring his game to the next level.
Let's see how many seam passes ovi tries from half wall. Let's see how many times with pressure he over handles puck and doesn't move it quickly.
Those turnovers, which he displayed so ever presently from his early days along half wall. If those go. Then I'm fine with it.
When the Caps had the #1 PP in the league OV was on the half-wall or the point. He was poorly and under-utilized as a decoy. It was absurd. Boudreau failed at team discipline from Day 1. Teams adjusted to the Caps' system (in the playoffs and last 2 seasons) and when Bruce finally figured it out it was Year 5 and the "accountability" message didn't click with the players he'd ass-kissed his whole tenure.
Gee, I can't imagine why anyone could possibly find it annoying how no matter what happens, someone would show up and post something related to their single, 1 point agenda.

Hunter said he will be changing the team’s systems, but that it is important not to bombard the players with too many alterations at once.
“It is a fine line; I changed a few things but you can’t make drastic changes because you don’t have time to practice,” Hunter said. “Every coach has different systems and I changed my systems a bit from Bruce’s…Forecheck, neutral zone, d-zone, basically the whole ice, I guess. I’m not trying to change too much right now it’s pretty quick to get everybody on a different page here right now, but I definitely changed a few things.”
Glad he is gradually working in his system. Sounds like he knows exactly what he wants to employ.

Haters will always be haters....

I'm not sure which one of us you're calling the "hater", but I am quite confident with Bruce removed, we will assuredly win a series of Stanley Cups, straight away.

Wasn't calling you a hater....just saying people with an agenda (like the poster I THINK you were referring to) tend to be pretty consistant.

He started on the half wall with Semin on the point... sucked. And was moved back to the point.
Can't remember what the Caps PP rating was for the 2008-2009 season but in the couple of games I've recently watched AO played on the half wall and on the point at times.
I'd tell you to manage your expectations. If what I fear is true, that Bruce has utterly confused our players with whatever it was he was trying to do from a systems perspective, they will still be confused tonight. It will take Dale a few weeks to right the ship if that is the case.
My thoughts as well. If we win 7-0 or lose 7-0, it is only the first game. I won't think much of the result (long term), but obviously hoping for a W.
